I follow rivers
Roam alongside the banks
Wishing for more
To surrender to the currents
And be pulled under
Escape unscathed
Foolish dreams
Constant motion
Never stopping
Never the same
Always different
Erosion and gravity
Take me too
I can be the sediment
That you carry and disperse
Scattering every which way
River, you have claimed so many victims
I think of their screams
I see their remains in your channel
I sense them on your shores
And so, I follow rivers
So that they may give me peace
