===================================================

Back home and on Earth I stood by Spock in the medical bay at the Academy, us both looking upon Pike who is in bed, him being monitored by Bones....well I should call him McCoy now, since we are now fully partners on the Enterprise, and you must not use nicknames much, and I look to Spock, and smile at him, and he nods to me, motioning me with his chocolate eyes to follow him, and we walk down the hall, and we both see a silhouette of a Vulcan ahead of us, and I recognize the energy of this Vulcan, but Spock did not of this era, this timeline.

"Father?"
Spock of this timeline asks, and Future Spock turns to him.

"I am not our father."
He looked to me, smiling warmly.
"Hello Kiro, we meet again."

I smile at him.
"What's crackilakin?"
He then chuckled.

Then Spock of this timeline says.
"Fascinating."

Future Spock looked to Spock of this timeline.
"There are so few Vulcans left.
We cannot afford to ignore each other."

Spock of this timeline looked puzzled in his eyes.
"Then why send Kirk aboard when you alone could've explained the truth?

"Because you needed each other, all three of you, opposing yet complimentary opposites.
It was that balance between us; I should say you and Kirk and Kiro, made the impossible possible."
Future Spock says to the Spock of this timeline.

"It was a test?"
Spock of this timeline asked.

"I am in no position to past judgement.
My actions have robbed you of much.
I could not also deprive you the revelation of all you could accomplish together.
Of a friendship that will define you and Kirk in both ways you cannot yet realize."
Future Spock says to Spock of this timeline.

There is to younger Spock's surprise a vulnerability to that indeed, then he asked.
"How did you persuade him to keep your secret?"

Future Spock then says to the much younger Spock than he is.
"I inferred universe-ending paradoxes would ensue should he break that promise."

"I figured that so I gave him a nudge.
I did remember threatening to beat his ass too."
I say to Future Spock.

"I figured you would Kiro, and in a way you helped."
Future Spock says to me.

"You lied."
The younger Spock of this timeline says to Future Spock.

Future Spock then says.
"I implied."

The younger Spock of this timeline says.
"A gamble."

"An act of faith.
I'll hope you repeat in the future."
Future Spock then looked to me.

Spock understands about enduring friendship him with Kirk, but.....
"The future is not what it used to be.
In the face of extinction it's only logical I resign my Starfleet commission and help rebuild our race."

"And yet you are in a unique position.
You can be in two places at once."
Future Spock says to the much younger Spock before me of my timeline.
Then Future Spock says next.
"I urge you to remain in Starfleet.
I've already located a subtle planet on which to establish a Vulcan colony, and assist in foundation of a new science academy."

"I would understand that."
I smile warmly at Future Spock, making the younger Spock of this timeline look at me confused.

Future Spock nods, smiling warmly, saying.
"Yes, you would.
To do anything for other's lives you would in my shoes."
