****Mia's POV****

Wednesday
2nd week of September 
Judge Elana's office

"Amanda and I have discussed it a lot and we would love to take you in as our own, hoping you'll give it a chance."
Sonny smiled

I looked at everyone
I looked at Judge Elana

"So what do think Mia?"
Judge Elana smiled

"Your honor. I want a family, I love child help so much it's been so helpful. But ultimately I want a mom and dad, a safe place like child help. A safe place where I'm loved...genuinely loved.."
I said

Judge Elana smiled

"You are a brave kid. One of the bravest and smartest kids for a 12 year old."
She said

"Mia I think this is a good idea."
Michelle smiled

"Me too."
I said

"How about we do this. Sonny and Amanda you continue to visit Mia everyday and Mia will finish the program and stay at child help until the end of September and October 1st she will be discharged as long as she is on track, and that will give you Sonny and Amanda Time to get ready for all inspections and everything. But as of today I'm granting temporary custody of Mia Martinez to you both, I really think and hopeful this will workout."
Judge Elana smiled

I turned around and hugged Amanda and Sonny at the same time, I was so happy and relieved but most importantly things was finally looking up.

****Sonny's POV****

Monday September 26th
Mia gets discharged Saturday October 1st
We are going through our final inspection today

"I really like what you did for Mia's bedroom, pink, purple, and yellow. Bright colors."
Rhonda the social worker said

"Michelle helped us a lot, those seem to be Mia's top choices of colors."
Amanda said

Rhonda checked through drawers, closets, checked everything

We continued the rest of the way through our house

"Congratulations detectives you passed."
Rhonda smiled

"I'll place this in the system, pass it over to child help, and pass it forward to Judge Elana."
Rhonda smiled

Amanda and I both smiled at each other so excited

"Best of luck to you both."
Rhonda smiled and she left

Amanda jumped in my arms and I swung her around holding her tight

"We did it Dominick".
She said putting her hands to my face

"Yes we did."
I smiled

She leaned in and kissed me on the lips

"I'm so excited."
I said

"Me too."
Amanda smiled

"Let's go see our daughter."
I said

"Yes."
Amanda said

****Mia's POV****

I was anxiously waiting for Sonny and Amanda to come for their visit, our visits have been going well and I've connected well with them, I really hope everything works out and I stay there, forever would be even wonderful. Sonny gives the best hugs and Amanda really is so easy to talk too, they both are. Both are special

Sonny and Amanda came into the art room and I ran over to them and hugged them

"I just got the report sent over."
Michelle said

I pulled away from them both and Michelle was smiling

"What report?"
I asked nervous

"We passed our final inspection, we finished everything you'll be able to come home with us Saturday."
Sonny smiled

I put my hand to my face

"What?!"
I said

"Yeah."
Amanda smiled

I stood there and cried Happy tears
For the first time things was moving forward and not backwards

Sonny picked me up off the ground and I stared into his blue eyes And he looked into

"If there's one thing I've learned from you in the short time I've known you is DNA don't make family, love does".
Sonny said

"Yes, yes it does."
I smiled back

Sonny put me down and I leaned in and hugged Amanda and held onto her
She comforted me well

I pulled away from Amanda

"So what happens when I come home will I go back to PCA?"
I asked

"We're actually going to talk about that today."
Michelle said

We all sat down at a table

"We need to discuss something's, and some of this maybe hard to understand."
Michelle said

I felt panicked

"We have a restraining order in place where Travis can't come anywhere near you, can't come to your school can't come within 500 feet of you. If he does he will automatically be arrested, the school is aware, we are not going to lie concerned that Travis will violate that especially with his trial coming up and as we get closer."
Amanda said

I began to have an increased amount of anxiety not sure what to say or think

"We did come to a mutual agreement if you want to go to campus that we would be ok with that, and if any issues arise or concerns are passed along to us then we would discuss what to do next"
Sonny said

"What do you think Mia?"
Michelle asked

I took a deep breath and then looked down then back up

"Yeah I think I would like to try."
