Trial is going

****Sonny's POV****
Wednesday January 11th
3rd day of the trial
It's been intense reliving everything that happened to me, and living through what happened to Mia, testifying what happened to me was hard and embarrassing.

From what's going on so far it's hard to say what's going through Judge Edward Kofax's head, the reason why no one likes him really is because not only is he weird and odd, but he's not really fair in some of his cases, Barba has been pushing the case to the most of his ability. Off the record Barba told us he's concerned that Travis will be granted at least visitation and Although Mia hasn't had any communication with Travis and she's been at a good distance in the court room, she clings to someone throughout the court hearings, I'm scared for her to get on the stand today and especially Travis' lawyer coming at her

It's 5:00am and I've been up all night off and on maybe slept an hour. I hung-out in the living room most of the night, Amanda's been in Mia's room with her since she's not been able to sleep at night, I've been puking with my nerves and just a ball of nerves.

I was watching Mia Asleep with Amanda in Mia's bed I was dreading today, absolutely dreading it. At this point I don't care if he pays for what he did to me, I hope he pays for what he did to my daughter.

I got in the shower and shaved and got ready for the day then I began making breakfast.

"Dominick".
Amanda came up from behind me And wrapped her arms around me

"Hey babe"
I said

I turned around and Amanda had already gotten dressed for the day.

"You look beautiful as always."
I smiled

"You look handsome as always."
Amanda smiled

We kissed on the lips and instantly went in for a hug

"Everything is going to be ok Sonny it has to be."
Amanda whispered

"Mom, dad."
I heard Mia say

Amanda and I pulled away from one another

"Yes baby."
Amanda said

Mia walked over to us and wrapped her arms around both of us

"Thank you for the time I've been here."
She smiled

"Mia you aren't going anywhere."
I said

"Well I just wanted to say thank you."
Mia said

I ran my hand through her hair and smiled at her, I was nervous.

"Let's eat some breakfast and we'll practice again."
I smiled

"Ok."

****Mia's POV****

We was waiting in the court room, I was sitting between Sonny and Amanda, waiting for them to call me to the stand.

"You'll be just fine."
Sonny whispered

"Thanks."
I smiled

My whole body shook from head to toe
I held Sonny's and Amanda's hands tight

Travis came in with his lawyer and he evil grinned at me and I instantly felt panic
I closed my eyes and just took deep breaths

"You got this baby it'll be ok."
Amanda whispered

"The next witness is Mia Martinez"
Barba turned around and looked at me and smiled

I got up letting go of Sonny's and Amanda's hands.

Barba led me to the stand and I did the swear in and sat down

I looked at Travis and began to have anxiety through the roof. He evil grinned at me worse
I was afraid

"Mia, can you state your age for the records."
Barba said

"I...am..12 years old."
I stuttered out

I looked at Travis again forgetting to keep look at Barba

"Mia can you tell me what happened the Friday of your 5th day at PCA, specifically after school."
Barba said

"Umm."
I said

I began to panic
I made eye contact with Sonny and he smiled

"Mia do you need a minute?"
Barba asked

"I'm ok, I'm sorry."
I said

"It's fine, (Barba smiled) can you tell me what happened that day after school?"
Barba asked again

I began to explain everything in detail that happened that I remembered and to the next moment in being in the hospital.

"Mia this wasn't the first time this has happened was it?"
Barba asked

"No."
I said

Barba began to share evidence of what I looked like pictures, and what medical exams showed

Barba asked me more questions and I answered to the best of my ability about my past and leading up to now

"I need to ask you now about what happened the night Travis took off with you when we was trying to get detective Carisi back."
Barba said

I looked at Travis and began to panic

I explained what happened Of what happened in detail

"Is where you was brought too Where Detective Carisi was being held, is that the same place Travis used to beat you and lock you in?"
Barba asked

"Yes."
I said

"Thank you Mia. No further questions your honor."
Barba said looking at the judge

Now the hard part
I took a deep breath

Travis' lawyer stood up with a weird grin and came towards me

"So Mia you testified that your dad has repeatedly beat you, mistreated you over the years and your mom before she left. Did you ever tell anyone?"
Travis' attorney said

"No."
I said

"Why was that? Was you afraid no one would believe you?"
Travis' attorney said

"Objection"
Barba stood up from his desk

"Sustained"
The judge said

"I'm sorry I'll rephrase that. Mia there was never any reports from any teachers or anyone that you was in trouble prior to detective Carisi's concerns about you. Why did you never report it to a teacher, friend."
Travis' attorney said

"Because I was afraid, and I didn't want anyone to know."
I said

My heart was pounding

"Why was that Mia? Was it because you simply misunderstood discipline with abuse?"
Travis' attorney said

"No! (I began to tear up) Travis has hurt me since I was little, with an iron, his fists, belts, you name it it's happened."
I began to cry

"Mia you never told anyone and you somehow get straight A's and all of a sudden a detective is involved at your school, you have this whole mess."
Travis' attorney said

"It's because someone finally cared enough to push it out of me something was wrong, and realizing it's wrong for a father to beat his kid."
I said screaming in tears

I looked at Travis

"You hurt me repeatedly over the last several years, you did it to my mom and she left. I don't ever want to be back in your house again."
I yelled crying

"No further questions."
Travis' attorney said

"You may step down Mia."
The judge said

I got off the stand
Barba was looking down writing notes shaking his head

I ran back to sit with Amanda and Sonny and they instantly comforted me rubbing my back

"We are adjourned for the day. The jury and i will meet tomorrow and go over everything and then Friday we will hear the end results from both cases."
The judge said

"Dad did I do ok?"
I whispered

"You did fine."
Sonny smiled and hugged me tight
