Aftermath of Trial

****Sonny's POV****
Friday afternoon
January 13th
Currently at the hospital

I was looking in at Mia through the window on her hospital room, she was out. The nurse was working on her IV and monitoring her stuff Since Mia was showing suicidal ideation we had to call an ambulance, she was absolutely hysterical on the ambulance resulting in her needing sedation and some medicine to help her calm down, she then tried to hurt herself on her wrists-it was a lot.

"How is she doing?"
Barba approached me

I put my hand to my face

"They had to give her some strong anti-anxiety medicine and sedate her to help her calm down, she had a breakdown. They had to (I began to choke on tears) restrain her because she started scratching her wrists and they was afraid she'd hurt herself or do something more."
I began to cry again

"I'm so sorry Sonny."
Barba said

"I'm sure you just didn't come here for this did you? Olivia is with Amanda in the cafeteria getting something to drink, I couldn't go because I don't feel like I can leave her. Especially after getting her off the barrier."
I said

"No I'm here to tell you I have appealed the visitations and judge Elana will be back Monday. Travis also got 25 years for the cases against you and Mia. I wanted longer but it's what we can get."
Barba said

I looked in at Mia

"How does a judge think it's ok for her to see her abuser."
I said

"I'm investigating that."
Barba said

"Good."
I said

"Mr.Carisi, you can go in and see her. She's out of it still but you can sit in with her."
The nurse smiled

"Ok."
I said

"I'll keep you updated and Mia is able to go home with you when she's released."
Barba smiled

"Great."
I said

"Dominick."
Barba said

"Yeah?"
I said as I began to walk into Mia's room.

"Take care of yourself too".
Barba said

"Thanks."
I smiled

I walked into Mia's hospital room and she was still out of it. I'm not sure entirely how long she'll be here yet.
I sat in the right side of her bed and took her hand and held it and rubbed her hand

Mia turned her head some and slowly was opening her eyes and she looked at me

"Dad."
She smiled weakly

"Hey sweetheart how are you feeling?"
I asked

"Tired."
Mia whispered

"It's the sedative, it must be wearing off."
I said

Mia tried to move her arms and quickly came to it more

"Why are my arms in these blue cuffs?"
Mia panicked

I squeezed her hand gently

"Mia it's just to help you, help keep you safe."
I said

"Dad please take these off."
Mia began to get upset moving her wrists

"Mia, shh shh shh"
I stood up running my hand through her hair

Mia began to cry

"I can't I'm sorry, it's to help you."
I said

"Will you please Hold my hand."
Mia said through tears

"Yes."
I said

I sat down and grabbed Mia's hand again and held it, she slowly closed her eyes and drifted off to sleep again.

There was knocks at the door I looked over and seen Dr.Shepherd again

"Hey Sonny."
He smiled

"Hey."
I said wiping my eyes

Dr.Shepherd came over to me

"I'd like to keep her here overnight until tomorrow, and see how she's doing and then maybe we can send her home if she's not showing any more suicidal tendencies."
Dr.Shepherd said

"How do we help her moving forward?"
I asked

"Would you say the whole court stuff set her off?"
Dr.Shepherd said

"Yeah, the visitation issue which Barba is working on appealing."
I said

Dr.Shepherd looked at Mia and took a deep Breath and let it out

"Im going to need you and Amanda to keep a Sharp eye on her and if she mentions or talks about wanting to hurt herself you'll need to bring her to the ER as soon as possible, but I want to evaluate her tomorrow."
Dr.Shepherd said

"Sounds like a good plan."
I said

"I'll be back in a-little bit."
Dr.Shepherd said

Dr.Shepherd walked out of the room and came in Amanda and Olivia

"It's just hard seeing her like this."
Amanda wiped her eyes

"I know, but it's going to be ok Amanda. Mia will be ok."
Olivia rubbed Amanda's back

"Barba talk to you?"
I asked

"Yeah he did."
Olivia said

"That bastard put us all through hell and still has enough nerve to get visitations, I don't know what that judge was thinking."
Amanda said

"Trust me Barba will be getting investigations done on that one too."
Olivia said
