Grian POV

I spread my wings out as far as possible. They were massive, a good 24ft long wingspan. Flapping gently, then harder, I took off from the ground. I love flying.

The wind rushed into hair and ruffled up my feathers, cooling my skin. The rush of adrenalin buzzed through my body.

My purple wings were stronger than any others I have ever seen, letting me go faster than an elytra. I would beat any of the hermits in a race.

That is, if they knew I had wings.

Everyone on this server had some bad experiences with watchers.

Me included, but they don't actually know that.

I would rather just keep it a secret.

     It's easier than explaining.

The shopping district look beautiful from the air.

     Wait, the shopping district?

My heart starts beating at a million miles per hour, by blood turning to ice. I can't be here, someone might see me!

My brain goes into overdrive, why wings flapping wildly, trying to get away as fast as possible. In the blind panic, I notice my communicator starts buzzing like crazy. Someone saw. I gotta go.

An arrow whizzes an inch from my nose. Oh no.

The second one was luckier than the first.

For a few moments, I was hovering in the air. Time slowed down around me, and my body went numb. I glanced down at the long, wooden shaft protruding from my stomach. Then I fell.

Which ways up? Which ways down? I'm falling way too fast!

After a second of flailing wildly, I managed to flip myself to face the ground just in time for impact.

     Everything hurt.

Absolutely everything was screaming in pain. Most of my bones felt broken. My ears were ringing. I had a pounding headache. That makes sense actually. That was a really long fall.

I opened my eyes. Xisuma's base.

I narrowed my eyes, squinting in confusion. They didn't kill me or put me in a cell?

I tried to push myself up, but flopped back down when I saw the chains on my wrists. Tears welled up in my eyes. Yeah, that makes more sense. Everyone here hates watchers, and I'm no exception.

To both the hating and the hatred.
