ANGELA
•••••••••••••••••

I walk out of the training room, tired and sweaty. My muscles ache and all I want to do now is eat and sleep but I can't.

I go to my room to take a shower and head back downstairs. Walking into the kitchen, I find Jade and Owen who seem to be having an argument about something.

"You jerk!" She yelled at him as he just continued to make himself breakfast. She took one of the bananas laying on the counter and threw it at him.

He dodged it in time and glared back at her. "Throw at me again. See what happens."

I roll my eyes and walk over to the fridge. "What are you two fighting over again?" I ask as I take out a water bottle and lean back against the counter.

Jade points at her brother with an accusing finger, "He doesn't want me to go with them on next week's mission."

I raise an eyebrow at Owen while taking a sip of my water. He only huffs and rolls his eyes. "It's a much more dangerous mission and I'm only taking a few of the shooters/snipers with me."

"What mission is it?" I ask curiously.

Owen's expression turns serious as he turns his attention to me."We're going to a women's shelter. It seems like a few new gang members are slowly kidnapping the women there and trafficking them. The gang is supposedly called the 'Red Skulls'. " He sighs and rubs his temples. "And my dear sister really wants to help but her shooting kills aren't that great and she knows this."

"Don't you need someone to lead the women out of the shelter and to a safer location?" I ask while crossing my arms.

Owen folds his arms over his chest aswell and levels me with a look. "Yes and I already have someone who's going to get the women out of the shelter. The snipers are going to be on a building from afar. I'm going to get the ones who will obviously try to run away during this whole thing."

I don't back down from his stare and say, "Your sister is really good at fighting and getting into places without being noticed. I think you should take her with you on this mission."

He takes a step closer towards me but I stand my ground. "You aren't the one who's in charge here, Angela."

I take a step forward aswell. And as much as I don't want to notice - I can see that his usual messy hair his damp and curly which means he just took a shower too. As he moves closer to me I can't help but get a whiff of his fresh scent.

He smells nice.

Now we're chest to chest, not breaking eye contact. "Does it look like I care?" I ask him.

A slow smirk pulls at his lips. "What I say goes." A dark brown curl falls onto his forehead as he chuckles softly. "So tell me Angela. What are you going to do about it?"

"What's your problem?"

"You."

I glare up at him as his smirk widens."You know you're a real pain in the a- " I was cut off by Jade's loud groan.

"Do I need to leave the room or are you guys done staring at each other like you're going to make out any second now?" She says with an eyeroll.
