ELIJAH
•••••••••••

Everyone has been extremely busy as the days pass in a blur and where I barely even left my office. I try to double check everything, whether that's security, weapons, cameras or delivers being made. I check them all. And so far everything seems to be going according to plan.

As for Nicole and Angela, I had asked Nicole to do more training with Angela, just in case. I haven't seen Angela as much as I wish I had though but as I said, everyone has been busy.

In the meantime Dante has been helping me secure my territory more thoroughly this week.

I wanted eyes all over this city, especially now that we're all going to my mother's birthday party.I can't risk Nicolai attacking my home again. It was my fault that he got away with it the first time. I'm not letting that happen again.

I power off my computer before sighing and leaning back in my chair. The night of my mother's birthday party has finally come and I just finished some last minute work before we're suppose to leave.

"You're still in here?" Dante asks as he strolls into my office, neatly dressed up in a dark clean-cut suit.

I straighten my tie before standing up and rounding my desk, walking towards the door. "I'm done, we can leave as soon as everyone is ready."

"Nicole and I are ready, Angela is still in your room though."

Our room, I wanted to correct but didn't bother saying anything because I don't need to explain something he already  knows.

"I'll go check up on her." I say and Dante nods his head, making his way towards my desk chair, getting ready to take a seat.

"Out of my office, Ricci."

I knock on the door calmly waiting for Angela to open up. My phone dings with a notification from Lorenzo, confirming that everyone is in place and that the building in which the party is held is secured.

I shoot a quick text in reply before pocketing my phone. I look up when Angela opens the bedroom door.

When I finally lay my eyes on her, it feels as if my breath is knocked right out of me.

An Angel. My Angel.

She looks devastatingly beautiful.

She's adorning a light blue dress with ample cleavage showing past the corset bodice of her silk dress. A loose bun rests on her head, tendrils of dark locks framing her soft features.

"Elij-" She's cut off when my lips immediately find hers and my hands wrapping around her small waist, pulling her towards me.

When she melts into me, I can't help but groan and tighten my hold on her. She smiles against my lips before slowly pulling away and I shamelessly follow after her.

She softly laughs and gives me one last kiss before fully pulling away. She lets go of my suit - which I didn't even notice she was clutching onto - and takes a step back.

"So I take it you like the dress?"

"I like you in that dress. You look absolutely beautiful, Angel." I smile as a faint blush spreads across her cheeks.

She looks away and hides her smile before picking up her purse. "Thank you." She says softly walking past me towards the door.

I can't get rid of the stupid smile on my face as I walk after her and pull her back against my chest. Her breath hitches when I place a lingering kiss on her soft shoulder and my hands circles around her waist.

I can't seem to stop touching her.

During these past few days I didn't get to spend much time with her because of all the work I had to do before my mother's birthday party. But here she is, looking all pretty dressed up tonight. I can't not touch her.

Angela sighs against me when I start placing small kisses on the side of her neck.

Just when I'm nearing her lips, she seemingly snaps out of whatever she was thinking and pulls away from me. She lets out a laugh when she fully turns to look at me.

When she softly runs the tips of her fingers over my eyebrows, I finally realize I was frowning.

"Stop pouting." She laughs as her fingers run over my lips."Come on we're going to be late."

I don't say anything and take her hand as she leads me out of the room. I'm not even watching where I'm going, my eyes can't seem to look away from her.

"We could just stay here and decorate our bedroom floor with that dress of yours." I blurt out.

She stops walking and shoves against my chest. "Elijah!"

I smirk down at her, "Yes, Angel?"

She can't help the blush that crawls up her neck and the tint that appears on her cheeks. I decide to lean down and barely brush my lips against hers, my hand finding her waist again and pulling her towards me. She starts breathing heavily, as our lips continue to brush against each other but never fully touching.

When she leans toward me more, I pull away and straighten my tie. I glance back at Angela as she looks up at me breathless.

"Come on, Angel. Don't want us to be late now do we." I say as I continue down the stairs.

I don't hide my smile as I hear her slightly stomping down the stairs behind me. She's cute when she's mad.
