Chapter 26: The Manipulation

After Tommy calmed down, Philza took Techno to the side to speak with him, "I'm not sure Tommy can handle this" Philza whispered to Techno as he looked over Technos shoulder to see Tommy still looking distraught

Techno turned his head to glance at his little brother who was sitting on the ground just looking forward at the grassy plain

He knew what it meant to Tommy to see Dream die, he knew about the guilt that he had been carrying, he also knew the fear that Dream had instilled in him

"He has to do this" Techno whispered to his father, Philza looked somewhat puzzled but reluctantly agreed

Ranboo sat on the floor in the dark room, his wrists were sore from being chained together, he had finally calmed himself down after his visit from Dream, he needed to find a way out of here and he needed to get back to Techno

He stood to his feet and looked around the dark room for something he could break the cuffs off on, there was nothing in the room that was sharp enough to break through the iron, maybe there was something he could pick the lock on the cuffs with, he scanned the room, he noticed a sconce on the wall it had a sharp piece on it

"Maybe I could pick it with that" Ranboo said as he walked over to it he took the burning candle out of the sconce and almost burned his hand with the hot wax

He put the candle on the floor, and put the lock hole into the sharp metal, he wiggled his hand around a little, then he heard it a click, his left hand was free, "thank the gods" Ranboo sighed in relief his other hand was still in a cuff, but it would come off easily now

"You really think it would be that easy?" Ranboo heard the voice from behind him, he froze in place then turned to see Dream and a white hooded blonde guard with dark armor on and a gold chain around his neck an axe on his back, the white hooded man walked up to Ranboo and cuffed his hands back together

"Hold on Punz- uncuff him for a while" Dream said authoritatively to the white hooded man who looked confused

"Don't worry I'll be in here with him" Dream smiled in a strange way, it was almost comforting to Ranboo which made Ranboo a little on edge

The man named Punz uncuffed Ranboo and left the cell, Dream made a wooden table and two chairs appear in the dark room, Ranboo rubbed his sore wrists and looked confused at Dream

"Play with me?" Dream said as he made a chess board appear on the new table, Ranboo looked at the board and back up at Dream still confused, "Never been one for chess" Ranboo said as he rubbed his wrists some more

( A/N Ok just for some clarification I have no knowledge of chess so if some chess nerds are reading this I'm sorry this probably won't be accurate)

"No matter, just something to do while we chat" Dream smiled softly as he sat down, Ranboo reluctantly sat down, but as long as his hands weren't cuffed he didn't really care what he did

Dream moved one of his pawns forward, Ranboo moved one of his forward also

"So Ranboo- what do you think you doing are here" Dream said as he made another move

Ranboo looked at him puzzled at his question, "I don't know- how would I know you just brought me here against my will" Ranboo said as he scanned the Life gods face, there was no particular emotion clearly shown

Ranboo looked down at the board and made another move

"I didn't bring you here" Dream said with no emotion as he looked at Ranboo then back down at the checkered board and made another move
