After hours of asking questions, no one could tell me why Casey was in the woods. According to her teacher, she was in the class. When Casey came back around she claimed she didn't remember. Professor floral ruled it up to shock and nothing further could be done without information. So I just let it go.
Going to see the headmaster I knocked on his office door before I heard him say come in. Opening the door I went inside and the headmaster looked at me now
"Gemini. Are you here to talk about your white rank again?" He asked me.
"No sir. I'm having some problems with the black classes." I told him as I sat down in the chair "they don't view me as a teacher. Just as another student." I told him
"And the other classes?" He asked me
"They are not a problem as they see my rank and respect that first," I told him
"Do you think if you wore your white time the black class would respect you more?" He asked me leaning against the desk
"I believe it will make problems worse. My history with Blake and Ian and them knowing about my loss of powers. They don't trust my judgment and it makes the rest of them not trust me." I explained to him. "I mostly just wanted to ask if I could wear something other than my school uniform. But I also don't want to wear the witch's robes either." I told him
"What would you propose to wear?" He asked me. I wasn't a hundred percent sure.
"maybe something like casual business. You have the students wearing blazers and dress pants or skirts. What if the teachers who don't want to wear the witch's traditional robes worse thing similar but more business than school. Like I do love the uniform but wearing something to show I am not a student but a part of the school would be best." I suggested. He looked at me now like he was thinking.
" I will speak with the school tailor and see what they suggest. I will call you when there is something to show. In the meantime, if you wish to wear casual clothes I will allow it." He told me. I have a slight nod now getting to my feet c
"Thank you, sir. I appreciate it a lot." I told him as I turned to leave the room.
Heading down the stairs I ran into that half-demon student. He looked at me frightened and lose. Before I could ask him hatching he turned to run away. But his girlfriend came up the stairs and looked at him I was relieved now
"There you are I have been looking all over for you," she said visibly stressed out. She saw me now "I apologise Gemini I didn't see you there," she told me pulling her boyfriend over to her now
"Is everything okay?" I asked her.
"Yes of course." She said slowly pushing her boyfriend back down the stairs.
"I don't mean to push but if there is something I can help with it's okay to ask. I mean I did stick my neck out for your boyfriend to come to the school despite him being half-demon. And I let you join the black ranks despite not quite qualifying." I spoke. She became tense now and I realised my words might have come across as a threat now "what I'm trying to say is I am willing to help." I said looking at them
"It's not a problem." The girl spoke turning to leave but the guy stopped her now. He looked at me.
"You have a demon soul inside you." He told me.
"What?" I asked him confused and somewhat horrified.
"It's not Lilith. I saw her inside you. She's scary. But there is another demon soul inside you. It's attached to you. This one's always been there. Even when I first got here that demon soul was there. I don't know who it belongs to but it's powerful. More powerful than Lilith. My demon side is both drawn to you out of service but your presence is also terrifying and I can't get away fast enough." He explained to me.
"I didn't know," I whispered I felt like my body had been violated again. Like something disgusting was inside of me. "What do you mean by out of service?" I asked him
"Aren't you a creature researcher? Shouldn't you know demon rankings?" He asked me
"Demons are categorised as dangers and normally kill on sight. No research has been recorded on them. And frankly, my encounter with Lilith wasn't a peaceful conversation." I told him unable to look at him because the memories of what Lilith did still give me nightmares without Olivia there. "But I am willing to learn. If you wish to teach me about demons I will do my best to record the information and maybe with your help I can help show not all demons are out to kill us." I told him. He gave a slight nod now.
"I would appreciate the help for my people. I won't lie not all of us are the best. But that's just like all species. There are always going to be some who kill for fun." He told me I gave him a gentle reassuring smile now.
"That is true," I told him. He went to leave now but I stopped him. "Can I ask you something?" I asked him
"Of course." He spoke
"How can you see the soul? I have had several people look into my soul but they have been unable to identify it." I told him. He just looked at me for a moment it was like he was trying to decide if it was worth telling me the truth or not.
"It's not that I can see the soul. But as a demon, the overwhelming presence of another demon's soul can be felt. I am a service demon. My rankings seek out stronger more powerful demons to serve. If you encounter other demons they might be inclined to try and kill your or approach you to be of service. That's just how the demon species is. It's kill or serves. It's why hell is so divided up to avoid war. Every demon king had his domain and in every domain, there are four to five generals. And every general has ten to fifteen service demons. Generals can create more demons. Lesser demons. These are the ones who are the most dangerous. They are just shells with no soul and they kill trying to take the souls of other beings for their own." He explained to me now
"So you know there is a demon soul in me because you can sense it. Not because you can see it?" I asked him.
"Yes. Truthfully I believe it's the only reason you survived closing the demon gate. That demon soul was already with you when you took Lilith's soul into you. It's stronger than Lilith and prevented Lilith from killing you but it's still a demon and they enjoy torture." He explained further. "Without the other souls, it's more prominent now." He explained to me
"I know you are probably not the person to ask by should I be worried?" I asked him he shook his head jo and gave me a friendly smile now.
"I don't believe so. If it was a threat it would have taken over you by now. There is no use in waiting in taking you over. You are powerful as you are. But you are weak and possession is not that difficult. Especially with how long that demon has been inside of you. It would know the ins and outs of your mind that it could put you into a trance and make you believe you are still living your life and you would not know any better." Well, that's one way to make me realise how easy it would be. He said that with such confidence that I would fail.
"Thanks, I guess. Sorry, I don't recall your names. What were they again?" I asked
"I am Desmond. But I prefer Des. And this is my partner for life Haley. I'm sure you know she's a witch. She specialises in blood magic. Although dangerous to most people it's effective against demons which makes her the best to stop me if I lose control." He told me. I have a slight nod now before they walked away. Once they were gone I leaned against the wall. There is a demon soul inside me? What do I do?
