Edric woke up. He didn't want to go to school, not after last night. Edric truly thought that the Golden Guard maybe kinda could have liked him, but he lied, and now that trust is broken.

Edric slowly got up and got ready for school. He put on his concealment stone as he did everyday. After a slow 20 minutes he was fully ready and headed downstairs. Emira and Amity were at the table eating breakfast. They were eating a bowl of demon crunchies w/ bonemellos. Amity and Emira gave each other a look when they saw Edric come down the stairs slowly with a frown and huge bags under eyes, bags that could rival those of Hunter's. Edric grabbed some demon crunchies too but he just sat down and poked at it, he wasn't very hungry. Emira spoke up first, Amity had told her what happened so she didn't bother bringing it up.

"Hey Ed, are you going to eat anything."
Edric didn't look up from his food.

"No..." Edric spoke softly almost to a whisper. Edric felt dead inside, he didn't feel like doing anything.

"Well then maybe we should just go to school, we could all walk together, I could text Luz and tell her I won't be there." Amity didn't know what else to suggest but maybe a long walk would help clear his head. Edric simply nodded lightly. So the trio got up, cleaned up their food and grabbed their bags. They said goodbye to their dad who was in his workshop and headed out the door.

The walk to Hexside wasn't long at all for them, and they would be getting there much earlier than usual. Emira tried to pass a casual conversation. "So Edric, how is you're history class coming along?" Edric was staring at the ground kicking a rock as he walked. He hadn't said anything since they left.

"It's fine." That was all he said very quietly again. He just didn't feel like talking.

Emira frowned. She didn't know what would cheer him up. Then she her mind went to Hunter. He's already became such good friends with him and it's only been 2 days. Crazy how so much can happen in that short of time. Edric and Hunter seemed to have a connection and Edric seemed to get really happy around Hunter, so Emira decided to bring him up.

"Aren't you excited to see Hunter?" Emira said in her teasing tone, but not too teasing.

Edric actually looked up from the ground, which shocked both Emira and Amity.

"Look I know you guys are just trying to help, but please just lay off a bit." He said in an aggravated tone. He then dropped the attitude and sighed, as he started walking fastly ahead of them, forgetting about the rock he was kicking.

Emira looked at Amity concerned but Amity just looked confused.

"Who's Hunter?" Amity said slowly, the name sounding familiar.

"Oh you haven't met him yet, well Hunter is this cute blonde boy that Edric met on Monday, he's new to Hexside." Amity gave a very questioning look. Could this be him???

"What does Hunter look like?"

"Well he has blonde hair with a loose hair dangling down in the front, he has this pretty magenta eyes, but has massive bags under them, ummm he has a tooth gap, and a scar on his left cheek, but he pulls it off rather nicely."

Amity's breath hitched. She gasped a little. Holy shit, Edric is friends with the Golden Guard. Should I tell Em? Not yet, until know if he's up to something.

Emira looked at Amity puzzled. "Are you ok?"

Amity tried to mask her nervousness. "Yeah, I'm fine, just um, Hunter seems really great, I hope maybe he can cheer Edric up."

Emira continued to be suspicious but then sighed, "I hope so too, honestly Hunter seems really nice, but he's really socially awkward, he makes Ed really happy though somehow."
