Chapter 9: Determination

Jaden wasn't holding back, even a little bit. He was using all the energy he had. But Rocky interrupt his attack by grabbing both his arms. Jaden did a flip, while freeing himself from Rocky's grip. Rocky was slightly in disbalance, and Spider-Man wanted to use that opportunity. He jumped up and shot two webs next to Rocky and pulled himself down to kick Rocky to ground. His opponent took quite some damage from that attack and was laying on ground as Jaden took some distance.

Suddenly eight guards came in due to all the noises. They all had rifles in their hands, and they were pointed at Spider-Man.

"Shit."

< There are too many of them. I can't dodge all of their bullets. What a pain. What I'm going to do now? >

"Leave him!", said Rocky as he stood up again. "He is mine!"

< Man, why the hell did he stood up again? > thought Jaden who was tired of all these fighters. He wanted to go for his actual opponent, for which he came here.

Rocky took out his gun and started shooting at Spider-Man. Jaden could dodge through jumping and by doing side-flips.

< He had a gun all this time? So, he wasn't serious back then. >

Jaden pulled the gun out Rocky's hand with the help of his web and was spinning it again in mid air before he threw it back with all his strength. But Rocky himself grabbed the gun while he did 360° turn while jumping and hit Jaden with the gun right in the face as he was holding it in his hand. Jaden fell back and saw everything blurry. He had taken a lot of damage through Rocky's attack.

< No this isn't the time to give up! > thought Jaden as he stood up again and ran towards Rocky with his elevated hand. But Rocky just kicked him away making Jaden's effort useless. Then he grabbed Spider-Man from his head and tossed him into the ground and kicked him again. Jaden rolled away and stayed on the ground. The right lens on his mask had shattered through Rocky's last attacks. His light brown eye was visible now, as some part of face too.

John, Katakuri, Verena and Amalia were on their feet again.

"What is it Spider-Man. Already done? What happened to all that Spider-energy?", said Verena.

"I must admit that you were my strongest opponent until now. But not because you were strong.", said he as he walked towards Spider-Man. "Because the most enemies didn't even want try it against me.", said he further while laughing.

Then grabbed Jaden by his head and lifted him up. "But you were extraordinary strong and had remarkable perseverance. For that you have my respect."

Jaden took the chance and punched Rocky in his face so that he let go of him.

"Don't underestimate me!", said Jaden as he turned around and shoot his webs at a big iron plate to move it. He was gathering all his strength and the plate started moving. But then suddenly he got shot at his left shoulder and did let go of the webs.

Rocky and all the other turned around saw how Vijah was holding his gun towards Spider-Man. Now Jaden also turned around slowly and saw his elder brother holding the gun.

"Why?", said Jaden in a weak tone as he remembered all the beautiful moments together with his brother at once, as if life itself flashed by him.

"We don't have time for this. Rocky please be so gentle and throw this hobby hero down.", said Vijah as he turned around and put his gun away. He was looking down and had a serious facial expression.

Rocky went forward and grabbed Spider-Man at his head and held him at the edge of the platform. Jaden had no strength to resist any longer.

"You fought well but this ends here", said Rocky. And then he threw Spider-Man down and walked away.

Jaden was falling, but with his last resort of strength he shot a web at the construction site and landed in an empty floor.

"I can't believe I have lost. I gave everything I have and was still unable to beat them.", said Jaden as he took out a little injection from his pocket and injected himself with it. It was a healing serum he had made for himself.

He stood up and removed his broken mask.

"I failed even though I had to power to stop this.", said he while looking at his mask. "Is there any value in being a hero?".

Back at their house.

Varun was in Jaden's room. Looking at all the tools and gadgets his son had created. Then he found a notebook at the table. "Spider Armor- MK IV" was written on it.

"Spider Armor? On what has he been working on?", said he as he wanted to open the notebook.

"VARUN!", shouted Malika.

He immediately put it away and went for Malika. As he arrived at the anteroom, he saw how Malika was helping up Jaden, who seemed to be brutally beaten up.

"Jaden.", shouted as he lifted up Jaden and brought him to the couch in the living room. He noticed that Jaden had been shot.

"Malika bring me my medicine box please. I can treat his wound.", said he as he took out a knife and cut the suit around the wound.

"You are going to be alright Jaden. Hang in there."

Jaden had his eyes closed and had no strength to do or say anything.

Malika had brought the box and Varun gave it to Varun.

"Oh no. You will have the honour.", said as he gave it back to her. "You do know how to do it, right?"

"Of course, but what is it? You seemed to have something on mind."

"You save our son, and I will bring down our other one."

"What? How? And how do you intend to find him?", asked Malika.

"I put a tracker on his suit. I will trace his last location and there I have it. He killed many people, but in the end, he ended up doing his biggest mistake.", said Varun in an angry tone. "And that was to hurt his younger brother. And it triggers me that this isn't the first time I couldn't prevent it."

Malika started looking at him with a said facial expression as she knew about whom she was talking about.

"Father.", mumbled Jaden. "I'm sorry I couldn't finish it."

Varun sat down to him and put his hand on his back.

"I thought I would be strong enough."

"No, I'm sorry. That I let it come to this. You are far to young for this. Let me handle it from now.", said Varun and stood up.

Then he went to Malika and hugged her. "I will solve this love. Soon we will be through this.", said he.

"Just come back in one piece.", said Malika.

"I will always come back. I promise.", said Varun. Then he walked to a specific door in the house. A door which hadn't been opened for years. He kicked it to open up and went down. Then he came to a table in the middle of the room. First, he switched on a light, which started shining at his face. He grabbed a big box underneath the table and opened it. All his weapons and gadget from the old times were in it. Also, his gun, which had been with him from all the years in the CIF. And this was the gun with which he killed Rodrigues.

"Quite iconic. That another elder brother who took the wrong path will get to die by this gun.", said he as he loaded it as his anger was burning in his eyes.
