"I'm here, I'm here" I yell when I open the door to my dorm room. I just got back from Noah's, I had to leave early for tonight's movie night with the girls.
Rose tried calling it 'Rosie's Chick Flick' but Nora and I both shut it down faster than she came up with the name.
"Finally! How did it go with Noah?" Rose asks as she gathers snacks in the kitchen to bring into the living room.
"Good, I guess?" I tell as I throw my bag and shoes onto the floor. When I enter the living room I see three cowgirl hats on the coffee table and three different Onesie's folded underneath them. Each of our names is on a sticky note to tell us who wears what.
"So no hanky panky tonight?" Rose says while wiggling her eyebrows at me as she walks into the living room with two bowls of popcorn. One for Nora and me, the other for her. She may look tiny but that girl can eat as much as an elephant.
"If you keep trying to hint at Noah and me I'm going to strangle you," I warn her.
"Kinky," I hear Nora say as she walks out of her room in nothing but a cropped top and underwear. I turn back to Rose when I hear her gasp.
"Nora, that's my line!" She says acting offended. I just laugh at her. I walk over to Nora and hug her.
Some people may not be comfortable with their friend in only a shirt and underwear walking around but for us it was normal. We could walk out of the bathroom because we forgot a towel and none of us would bat an eye.
Nora was really shy at first when she moved in. But as time went on she became more comfortable around us. Rose had been a big part of that and I was thankful she helped Nora get out of her comfort zone more.
"So how's everything with your dad?" I ask her as I pull away to help Rose carry the food and drinks into the living room.
"Surprisingly well I think. He didn't disown me or anything so that's a good thing but he was a little mad I didn't tell him sooner because then he wouldn't have tried to set me up with those boys from his job." Nora says to us.
"Good, I'm happy everything went well," I tell her as I nod along to what she is saying.
"Me too! I'm happy for you Nor Nor." Rose says as she gives a huge smile to Nora.
Once all the food and drinks are set up on the coffee table Rose hands us our onesies and tells us we will get our hats later on tonight for photos.
I have an all-gray bunny one while Nora has a Stitch one and Rose has a white and pink unicorn one. When we all have our onesies on, Rose tells us next on the list is talking about everything that has been happening in our lives. Rose decides to go first.
"So lately it's been kinda hard you know. I haven't been the best emotionally since the anniversary of my dad's death is coming up. You guys know it's never easy around that time of the year so I've been trying to start meditating every day to calm myself down and it's been working." Rose tells us as she fidgets with her hands.
She's never been good when it comes to emotions most of the time she just blocks them out until they become unbearable and she breaks down. She has been getting better at it but whenever this time of year pops up she sort of shuts down on us.
We try to help her in any way we can even if it was just laying down and cuddling her as she cried to us. Last year when she had shut down Nora and I had missed almost a week of classes so that we could just stay home and watch old movies with her as she cried to us and told us memories of her dad.
It was now Nora's turn to go.
"I've been good recently. I've talked to my dad about Lily and I might have asked Lily to hang out next weekend." She pauses and smiles to herself before continuing.
"I have been a little stressed with classes due to some teachers giving a lot of work but that's it nothing big has happened yet." She finishes off.
"I am so happy you asked Lily to hang Nor," Rose tells her. I nod my head giving her a big grin.
Nora has had a crush on Lily since she was a junior in high school. She had even told us she applied just so she can be in the same school as Lily. She acts like Lily's rival just so Lily would look at her. She would do anything for that girl.
Now it's my turn to go.
"Classes have been good. I have been missing my mom and dad a lot lately. Also, I may or may not have developed a small crush on Noah Hayes." I spill out the last part in a rush.
"I knew it! You owe me ten bucks!" Rose says loudly as she holds her hand out in front of Nora. Nora sighs before playing a ten-dollar bill in Rose's hand. I look at them with a confused look.
"Oh sorry. Nora and I had bet on you. I said that you will admit you have a crush on Noah tonight and Nora bet that you would deny it until Halloween." Rose says filling me in. I roll my eyes at the two of them.
"How did you know you have a crush on him?" Nora asks me.
"Today, when he went to get snacks for us I might have snooped around his room and when I was snooping through his bookshelf I saw a copy of the book I was reading last week and when I asked him about it he was embarrassed and confessed that he was only reading it because I kept talking about it," I tell them. They both made an awe sound as I finished speaking.
Once we were done speaking we decided to take a picture together before we started a movie. We were all out on our cowgirl hats as we stood in front of the big window.
I stood in the middle with my hand up in the arm as I did a peace sign while Nora was on my right holding up a middle finger while Rose was on my left doing the same thing but Squatting a little bit. Nora and I laughed as Rose fell backward as soon as I took the picture.
I posted the picture onto Instagram and captioned it 'Rosie's Chick Flick' just so Rose doesn't call me boring for just calling me a movie night.
When we were done we all snuggled on the couch with snacks as we started watching the movie 'She's the Man'.
My phone buzzes with an Instagram notification. My eyes widen a little when I see it's from Noah's Instagram account.
