Poem: To Hate Love

He said he hates love,
She cried on his shoulder
As the sky cried and voiced it's pain
He dried her tears and gave her a hug

She said she loves him,
He whispered under his breath
As her tears soaked his sleeve
He began to hate the one
Who made her cry
In his mind he was a monster

Without breaking a smile
He wondered if to confess
As she cried she asked Cupid
To tell him to stop being stupid

Humans are blind, the sky whispered
And the dark clouds remained
He comforted her heartbreak
She nurtured his love

And was comforted by the very one
Who broke her heart
While he hated himself unknowingly
Regretting life's choices

She got up,
Thanked him and walked away
And as we went our separate ways
In the rain we cried:
This is why I hate love
