Poem: The Words I Couldn't Say

5 1 0

Calm, unbothered and attractive
Tall, athletic...
She's begging to speak
Asking for you to make time
Asking to have a place
In your seemingly cold heart

Sweet, introverted, and logical
Patient, clumsy...
He's begging to know what you think
Asking for understanding
Asking for you to know
That he likes you

I long to tell you
The things you couldn't see
Express how I feel
But I can't
So I push aside my hurting
And lack of attention
To smile and say
"I'm fine"
