By the time we got to the Lipton property the sun had already set, which I assumed would be an issue until Dustin looked at everyone and passed out flashlights that he pulled out from the right pocket of his bag. His bag seemed like it had everything you could ever need at any given time and I swear by that. We all got out and turned on our flashlights and walked up to the door. I stayed as close as I could to Robin slightly out of fear that anything and anyone could pop out of that house even including a crazy and fear driven Eddie Munson. Dustin rang the doorbell once and sat there for a couple seconds and then rang it again and then rang it five more time. "Alright obviously no one is here" me and Steve both spoke up. This didn't stop Dustin because he started banging on the door saying things like "Eddie open up" and "Eddie let us in we just want to talk" Dustin continued to bang on the door as me, Robin, and Max all started shining our lights through the window to see if we could see anyone but just as me and Steve assumed, I saw nothing. Max then turned to the left side of the house and started walking that way shining her light around in the yard. "Hey guys!" Max shouts with concern laced in her voice. Truly I didn't even want to walk to the side of the house and see what Max was looking at. I didn't want to see any dead bodies or dead animals or anything from the upside down. Some nice yellow and purple flowers in a field would be more gladly appreciated. We make our way over to Max and right in front of us is a completely metal shed, well it was more like a garage type of thing. I could picture someone working on cars or something in it, I could that my gut was telling me something. I don't know whether or not it was trying to warn me to leave or if it was telling me to go in and find Eddie but something was up with the damn shed garage thing. We all walk up and head to the main entrance to the shed with Max in the lead with me in the back. How great, someone who is scared of the dark is put all the way in the back. I tried so many times to get over my fear of the dark especially any time Billy would pick on me for it explaining that at my age I shouldn't be afraid of the dark. I realized that I'm not afraid of the darkness itself, I'm afraid of what creeps and lurks in the darkness. "Y/n come on what are you doing?" I turn and look at Dustin and see the group was several feet ahead of me "I'm sorry, I'm coming" I choked out with my voice being full with fear. I jogged my way to the group and everyone was shining their lights in the windows and you could see boating equipment and life vest and even tiny little boats. It's not what I expected but then once again we are near Lovers Lake so I'm not surprised. We all walk in and while everyone is looking around Steve decided to pick up a boat oar and started stabbing and poking at the tarps that were in the little boats. Max and Robin went to the other side of the room and they were talking about something when Dustin chimed in and said "Don't worry, Steve will get him with his Oar" I couldn't help but laugh because I slightly agreed with Dustin's sarcasm. This made Steve roll his eyes and speak up " I know you're being funny Henderson but considering that fact that we all almost died a hundred times, personally I don't find it funny-" he was suddenly cut off when a figure jumped up from underneath the tarp and pinned Steve to the wall with a broken beer bottle close to Steve's throat. It took me a second to register who it was but the infamous possible friend killer, Eddie Munson, was right in front of us with a broken beer bottle to my brothers throat. Me and Steve just kept on screaming for Eddie to wait and stop while Dustin is screaming Eddie's name and saying that it's just us. After Dustin repeatedly yelling for a couple seconds Eddie looks over at us. First he looks at Dustin, then Max, then Robin, and then finally me. You could see the fear in his eyes yet somehow his eyes softened a bit when he finally took in who I was. "Eddie it's me Dustin, this is Steve. He's not gonna hurt you, right?" He tried to reassure Eddie to calm him down and get my brother out of his grasp. "Yeah yeah" Steve quietly choked out. "Steve why don't you drop the oar" I hoped that by saying this and Steve dropping the oar and Eddie would realize that we aren't here to hurt him. Immediately Steve drops the oar and as soon as it made a bang from hitting the floor Eddie brought the broken bottle closer to Steve's neck. I didn't know what to say next, no words came to my mouth only a shocked and fearful gasp. "Cool! He's cool Eddie" luckily Dustin with perfect timing knew exactly what to say. "Yeah I'm cool, I'm cool" Steve once again had to choke out. Eddie finally spoke up "What are you doing here?" It was like he even struggled to get that out, his voice cracked and sounded like he was going to cry. "We're looking for you." Dustin is still trying his hardest to reassure Eddie and I'm afraid it's not working "Yeah we're here to help" Robin gave a soft smile with her words which made Eddie look over with confusion. I don't know if he was confused about who Robin was or why we were here to help him. " Eddie these are my friends, you know them. This is Robin, from band" Robin uses her hand to pretend to play a trumpet. Dustin continued on, "This is my friend Max, the one who never wants to play D&D" Max just gave a quick wave that has sass all in it but who wouldn't do the same. "This is my friend y/n, the one I brought to D&D last night." What could it possibly hurt if I mentioned the fact that we was supposed to hang out today maybe it would actually make him feel a bit better. "Yeah, we was actually supposed to hang out today at two" I could see the guilt in his brown eyes and he slightly brought the bottle away for Steve's neck but didn't fully put it down. "Eddie, we're on your side. I swear on my mother" Me, Robin, Steve, and Max all agreed and said that we swear on Dustin's mom. I feel bad for swearing Dustin's mom since her and Joyce are the only moms that actually care for out of the group. Everyone knows my feelings on Mrs. Wheeler and how she just didn't understand to keep her eyes to herself especially when she would be at the pool and a certain someone would be working the lifeguard station. Eddie suddenly lets Steve go and I rush over to Steve, Max and Robin was right behind me. We got Steve to sit down while I looked at his neck. There was some redness from how strong Eddie's grasp was. I wouldn't be surprised if in an hour or so there would be some bruising on Steve's neck. After a minute or two Steve finally caught his breath while Dustin was over by Eddie's side trying to get him to drop the broken beer bottle while Eddie was staring off into the distance basically shaking. Dustin reached for the bottle but Eddie was quick to flinch back and grab the bottle even tighter. Dustin held his hand up to us to signal us to stay still yet Robin didn't listen anyways and crouched down by Eddie "We want to know what happened." The smile on her face with the curiosity in her voice didn't seem so good. Who knows, Eddie might hold the bottle to her throat too. "You won't believe me." Eddie said while sniffling. His voice was heartbreaking and truly I felt bad for him. "Try us" I said, I meant it. We've seen and been through the most unbelievable shit and I doubt what he is about to say is going to be any less than that. He started explaining what happened to Chrissy and when he started explaining what happened to her body I couldn't take it. Me and Chrissy used to be so close and now she's dead and the only witness and suspect is a man who asked to go on a date only a few hours prior. I was slightly disgusted and I needed to get fresh air. I turned my flashlight back on and I looked at Steve and I told him that I needed to step outside for some air. I think he realized that me hearing the story and getting a play by play of Chrissy's death wasn't the best idea. The flash of guilt went back to Eddie's eyes but I was quick to look away and walk outside. The cold autumn night air hit my skin and sent shivers down my spine but the coldness was nice . I sat down on one of the larger cinder block slabs that was near the door. I leaned my back against the wall and closed my eyes and just listen to the sounds of the frogs and the crickets calmly chirping. It was soothing in a way. I heard the muffled noises from everyone talking inside. I stayed outside until it got a bit more quiet and then I got up and dusted my pants off and turned off my flashlight and walked back in. "Vecna's curse" Everyone was staring Dustin down after those words came from his mouth. I slightly remembered Venca from the game they played last night but I wasn't completely sure and my curiosity got the best of me. "Who's Vecna?" Dustin still looked at Eddie and Eddie continued to look down but when I spoke up Eddie looked up at me but this time he didn't seem startled, he seemed more like he didn't fully comprehend what he was thinking then just stared at the floor. "An undead creature of great power" Dustin even looked like he wasn't fully comprehending what he just said to me. "A spell caster" Eddie explained with confusion and concern laced in his voice. "A dark Wizard" the tension started getting thicker and thicker as Dustin finished his sentence everyone looked like they was trying to fully understand what this means and what this means for Hawkins but Eddie just looked at me with nothing but fear in his eyes, a fear that would only get bigger and bigger later on.
