HIDDEN

Chapter 1

Everywhere went dark. Barely anything was visible. The only source of light was from a hole in the ceiling where the moon was slightly visible, not particularly in the right spot.
"Where am I?" asked Mia to herself.
Almost immediately, the whole cave was illuminated with torches on the walls that suddenly lit up with fire.
"No seriously, where am I?" asked Mia once again as she looked around slightly frightened and confused. "I-Is this a prank, because it's not funny", she said a bit louder with a slight tremble in her voice.
Just then she heard a loud deep sigh that echoed throughout the cave. This startled her completely.
"YOU'VE FINALLY COME BACK HERE" said a deep and slow voice which also echoed through the cave.
"Uhh- Who said that? W-Where are you?" asked Mia utterly terrified.
"RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU" the voice replied.
Immediately Mia noticed a gigantic gate in front of her with a weird symbol on it and at the bottom nine holes big enough to fit a person's arm with tiny symbols on each hole. The voice seemed to have come from behind the gate.
The gate looked completed sealed as if to keep something important locked in.
Mia forced herself to move some steps back because she froze at the sight of the gate.
"WHERE ARE YOU GOING, NEPHTHYS?" asked the voice sternly.
Mia barely managed to speak. "Ummm, I-I think you've g-got the wrong person. I don't k-know anyone named Nephthys, b-but I'm sure if you wait a little longer, the person your looking for will-"
"SILENCE!" said the voice interrupting her, "YOU FEEL DIFFERENT... YOU'RE A CHILD?"
"Not necessarily a chi-" "YOU'VE GREATLY WEAKENED.... NEVERTHELESS, I'LL STILL HAVE WHAT I NEED"
Mia greatly troubled gathered all the courage she had and asked once again but this time with a serious tone,"Who are you?"
Then she heard another deep and loud sigh. "WE'LL MEET AGAIN NEPHTHYS."
Immediately everywhere gradually started going dark and the gate was barely visible.
"Wait! You didn't answer me. WHO ARE YOU!"
Then everywhere went dark.

BEEP BEEP BEEP
Mia immediately sprung out of bed as if awaking from a nightmare with a headache that followed.
"What kind of dream was that", she asked herself, "It felt so real."
She finally noticed the alarm and turned it off, checking the time.
"6:30am",she thought," Atleast I didn't oversleep. School starts by eight. I better get ready. Don't wanna be late."

Mia Parker is a 15 year old girl with brown hair and dazzling emerald green eyes. She had on, a sky blue short sleeve button shirt with a gray skirt, accompanying it was a grey sweater vest and a multicoloured tie. "The uniform actually looks good", she said to herself.

Today was Mia's first day at her new school, Gifted High. She wanted to arrive as early as she could, not because she was ecstatic about changing schools but because she had a habit of following the rules. She was rather annoyed. She loved her life back in her old school but there was nothing she could do. Her mother, Sarah Parker (a woman with brown hair and black eyes) got a new job as a nurse in Dawell's Hospital Care. Before that, they lived in Los Angeles where Mia attended Los Angeles High School. Mrs. Sarah being the only breadwinner of the family, thought that the most logical thing to do was to move.

"Focus Mia. Where did you drop it", she said trying to recall where she left her bag. She was already dressed in her uniform.
She then spotted it beside the table in her room. "Oh yeah, I packed some books inside yesterday", she recalled.
Just as she tried to reach for her bag, there was a blackout.....
