HIDDEN

Chapter 2

"Huh", exclaimed Mia surprised. Her room was dark but she could see slightly because it was morning but her curtains were shut making the room darker than its meant to be.

"This feels way too nostalgic", she thought slightly creeped out as she remembered her dream.
"Probably, mum must be at it again", she concluded as she reached for her bag once again.
She immediately pulled back as she saw something behind her bag run passed it.

"What was that?" she thought to herself really creeped out at the moment.

She wanted to get out of her room when the small dark figure ran passed the front of her door.
She backed up a bit instinctively looking for where it went. Something touched her leg slightly making her jump out of reflex.

She looked behind her to see where it went but to no avail.
Just then, a few steps in front of her, she saw the small creature sitting on the floor, staring at her with its golden brown eyes that shown brightly in the dark. It was too dark to make out the shape of the body.

"Umm, M-MUM!!!" she shouted as she was backing up but there was no reply.

The eyes started drawing closer to her. "MUM!!!!!" she screamed as the thing jumped towards her making her slip and fall to the ground with a hard THUD.

"Owww, my head", she said rubbing the back of her head with her palm.

She looked around trying to find the creature. She froze as she saw it right in front of her. It drew close to her until it was in her line of vision.

"Meow!"
"Meow?" Mia mimicked confused.
It turned out that the dark figure she was running away from was a black bombay cat.
It sat in front of her and tilted its head slightly.

"Why the heck is there a cat in my room", she thought, "a creepy one at that".

She stood upright still rubbing her head.
She stretched out her hands in the air but touched something hard.

"Eh, what's this", she said as she felt something hard surrounding her.
"Is this glass?" she asked squinting her eyes to see what was around her.

Just then the lights came back on. Her field of vision was back.
She was amazed at what she saw around her. It was like a thin layer of glass, with an almost invisible feather pattern and on each feather, there was transparent rainbow reflection.
"WHAT THE HECK IS THIS!"
Mia was really confused. She tried hitting it severally but it didn't dent.

"Is this even glass?" she asked herself.
It was like a round barrier around her.
She tried supporting her back on the side of the barrier and pushing the other side with her legs just to break it.

"Uurgh, why- won't- this-"
"MIMI!"
"AARGH!" she screamed as she fell hard on the ground once more.

Her mother rushed into her room.

"Are you okay?–I heard you shout out my name and fall– twice", asked her mum concerned.

"Mum, there's something around me, I can't get out of it", she complained.

"What do you mean? I don't understand. What's around you?", asked her mum confused.
"What aren't you seeing it. It's right–", Mia said as she reached out to touch it but felt nothing.....
