Chapter 22: August

The sight of Sybil's giant belly surprised August. He wasn't expecting her to be pregnant or with another man for that fact. Anger started rising up inside of him, how could she just replace him like that. The man picked up the stuffed animal and handed it to her placing his arm around her. She didn't pull away from him, August felt hurt by that.

" I guess you guys got my message. I'm Kade," he said.

"What message?" Sybil turned to Kade confused.

"He sent word to us that he knew where you were and asked us to come," Max said.

"Yeah, but he forgot to mention that you were pregnant," Margot added eyeing Kade up and down.

"You called them to come here? Why the hell did you do that! I trusted you!" She tried to push away from him but he held onto her.

"How about we go inside." He opened the door dragging Sybil through. He sat her down on the couch and walked over to the kitchen to put the food onto different plates. He could feel her fuming but his spell prevented her from expressing her anger. "Let's all sit and have a meal."

"Explain what the hell is going on here," August said. Kade made them come sit at the table.

"What the hell, how are you controlling us?" Margot asked.

"He's a level ten witch. They are pretty strong." Max explained.

"How about everyone eats first, then we can talk about everything." They all ate in silence. Once everyone was done eating, Kade cleaned up the table. No one was allowed to speak or move until he was done. Once he sat back down, he lifted some of the spell.

"What the hell is wrong with you! How dare you use your magic to control us like that!" August boomed.

"Oh relax Mr. Alpha. How about you tell the room why you're mad?"

"Because you touched her! You impregnated my mate!" August yelled.

"First of all, I didn't even know you were mates. I was under the impression you were just ex's. Good to know though. And secondly, that baby isn't mine." Kade said.

"Shut up Kade!" Sybil yelled.

"What?" August looked at Sybil.

"I think it's time you told your mate what's going on here Syby," Kade said.

"What's going on Sybil?" Margot asked her.

"Nothing for you to worry about okay. I don't want any of you here."

"Whose baby is that Sybil," August asked. She didn't answer him. "Whose!" he yelled smacking the table.

"It's yours!" She replied. Hurt flashed through his eyes before anger took over again.

"You were gonna hide my child from me?"

"What the hell Sybil," Margot said.

"Not for long, just until-" He cut her off.

"Until what? Until it was old enough to ask for me? Until you were comfortable enough to let me know about it? How selfish could you be?"

"Don't you dare call me selfish! You were the one who hurt me! You broke my heart August Hale! You knew how much I didn't want to open up and you broke down my walls just to hurt me all over again! I'm not sorry that I hide this from you, I was perfectly fine with raising this child on my own!"

"On your own, or with him! From the looks of it, the two of you are pretty cozy in this house! Don't use what happened with Naomi as a f*cking excuse for not telling me about my f*cking kid!" The room was silent.
