Lunch, finally

I sit down at our usual table, my body hitting the wood of the bench and instantly feeling relief being able to sit down. I'm so tired.

"So, tennis this year?" Angel questions us

"Did they do a different sport last year?"

"Yeah, they did football"

Do they want to do football again? Are they only doing tennis because of me? What if they hate tennis secretly?

"You're doing it again"

I kick his leg under the table and scold him

Valentino needs to stop paying attention so much

His light chuckle fills my ears and I can't help but feel an unknown sensation creeping through my stomach

"are there tryouts for each sport?" I literally know nothing about this school

"Sorta, you basically try out for placement there's Elite, Varsity, and Junior Varsity.

"what's elite?" i've never heard of that before

"it just means that your the best of the best basically that you could go D1"

"Huh, are you guys elite for football"

"Angel and Chase are, me, not so much" Cody answers for the three of them

that's so sad that they're on elite and he's not.

"Are you bad at tennis?" Cody looks at me

"um, i'm not bad but i'm not like super good"

If i'm on JV even though I don't play sports much that would be embarrassing

I hope i'm not super bad compared to Aiyana and Scarlett.

"Alright girl welcome to tryouts! We have one spot open on Elite, Four on Varsity, and six on Junior varsity. There's fourteen girls meaning three will have to try out for a different sport or join Performing arts.

After tryouts I was exhausted. They said everyone's names will be posted on the board that had sign up sheets tomorrow so we can see what team we're on. I don't think I did too bad, I'm definitely rusty though.

Jackson, a boy that plays Football ran up to me as i'm walking into the dorms

"Hey! You're Sky right?"

"Yeah, is your name Jackson?"

He nods quickly

"So, could I maybe get your snap?" he's partially being shy and it's really cute. I laugh at how he's acting and hand him back his phone after putting in my snap.

He says thank you quickly before turning around and running back to the fields, his black curly hair bouncing on the way. He's pretty hot I can't lie. He's probably like 6'1, Valentino is 6'3 hold up why am I comparing Valentino to him?

I can't help but smile as I didn't think any guy would ever ask for my snap let alone a hot one.

I looked up onto the board to see the tennis paper has been posted.

I scan my eyes across the names and see that I made it to Varsity, not too bad. Liliana is the girl that made it to Elite. Seriously universe? thanks for that! Aiyana and Scarlett made. varsity too so we are all together. When I read that they were on Varsity it was like a weight was lifted off my shoulders. Like I was stressed about it without knowing.

I feel arms wrap around my waist as I continue looking at the board

"looks like you don't suck as bad after all, to bad my girl will always be better" he whispers for only me to hear

I grab his hands and push him off of me turning around. "Backhanded complements shouldn't count as complements"

My stomach turns as I think about his words

is Liliana talking to him? Are they dating?

Jackson:

-would you want to hang out later
-my friends and I were gonna go to one of our friends houses we always hang out at would you wanna join?

-sure when?

-I'll come to your room at 7 and we can drive there

-okay see ya

I'm excited! I haven't hung out with anyone other than Aiyana, Cody, Scarlett, Angel, and Valentino.

"Why are you smiling at your phone?"

"why are you such an asshole?"
"both questions, both will remain unknown" I fake a smile going to class

he pisses me off so fucking much. He thinks he can be all touchy with me and act like he cares and the next second be a complete dick.

Whatever, i'll be with Jackson tonight anyway.

"Hey Bae!" I smile sitting down next to Angel ruffling his hair

"why hello my favorite soon the bottle buddy" Angel responds making me laugh

"So!"

"I have alcohol, everyone down to get drunk in my room tonight?" His smile beams showing his perfect teeth

"One, it's the middle of the week and two i'll be off campus"

"Why are you gonna be off campus?"

"Jackson from the football team asked me to go hangout with him and his friends"

"good for you! Getting out there" Aiyana smiles at me knowing i'm not the best with meeting new people

"my little social butterfly" Angel sniffles holding his heart

I flick my hair off my shoulders rolling my eyes to add to the sass

"you know it"

"He's not good for you to be around"

"Oh so you control who I hang out with now? Who new you had so much power over me"

"You know that's not what I meant"

"is it? You seem to like doing shit like that"
Why am I so mad? calm down Adriana god damn. It's just annoying. He's just annoying.

"my dad demanded for me to stay away from you because your a nobody who will only ruin our reputation, he said I needed to force you out of the group and never talk to you again. Maybe that wasn't such a bad idea"  oh

"Well I apologize for the inconvenience" I stand up picking up my backpack and walking away

"Chase what the fuck is wrong with you!" grits at the boy

"That was wrong man. Really wrong" Cody scoffs

everyone else started talking but I am now too far to hear them. Maybe I can get closer with Jackson and his friends. Maybe they'll let me hang out with them.
