Forty Five

By mid-morning the next day Do Hwan was the only one awake as both his daughter and girlfriend were still asleep. Keeping a close eye on his two girls as Eaven now lay making small movements in the bedside crib sometimes making cute cooing noises every so often, and seeing this he couldn't help but give a small smile but turning his attention back to Lily the smile only faded and he couldn't help but start to worry.

In the pit of his stomach, there was a feeling of concern. He had been watching her and holding her close to his chest with his arms around her for a short while, during that time he had gently tried to coax her into waking up but she wasn't responding, he knew that she didn't like to sleep in and preferred to be up early but this time it was different, something didn't feel right and he was starting to worry.

A deep frown on his face and pure worry within his eyes, he placed a kiss on her forehead to then rest his hand on her cheek moving his thumb in a soothing motion.

"Lilly... Darling, can you hear me? Please wake up it's starting to scare me, please let me know you're alright.", he pleaded, waiting a moment to see if she would this time respond but it felt like a lifetime until he soon got a response.

With slight movement Do Hwan watched and listened as a groan could be heard and she began to shift uncomfortably, this only made him more anxious and worried about his girlfriend.

"Lily... Lily are you in pain sweetheart are you hurt, what's wrong?"

"What?", she asked speaking in reply her voice quiet merely a whisper, her eyes opening very slightly.

"You were unresponsive, I've tried to wake you for a short while and nothing was happening, and you were very floppy not moving."

"Oh, I... I'm sorry I didn't mean to scare you I just don't feel so well. My body aches all over and I haven't got any strength or energy my body is just too exhausted and I haven't any doubt that my narcolepsy has a part to play in this.", Lily replied trailing off at the end running out of energy to be able to speak.

Putting the pieces together Do Hwan knew now what was happening and why she was feeling unwell. It seemed after only just giving birth three days ago and how much her body had gone through to bring Eaven into the world and with Lily having Narcolepsy and with her not having an episode for a while it had caught up with her and proven too much for her body and she had now crashed.

As a gentle sigh left his mouth he held her close once again gently resting his chin atop her head as she buried her face into his neck and he held the back of her head.

"It's alright don't worry, it's okay you don't have to be sorry sweetheart, just rest it's alright."

Staying beside her and giving her comfort was all he wanted to do until Eaven woke up and needed attention.

GaZing at Lily he lay his head on the pillow once again as he moved as close as he could towards her, cupping her cheek Do Hwan rested his forehead against hers listening has her breathing evened out as then but a moment later he moved her hair away from her eyes and tucking it behind her ear.

Not wanting to take his eyes off of her he found himself thinking back to the moment they had first met, she was and still is a kind and gentle soul who had been through so much yet, took each day as it came and how, from then to now how they had become a couple their time together and the journey of becoming parents, he loved her with all of his heart as she did him and no one could take that away from him ever.
