Chapter 14: Bella's Birthday

3rd POV
Jasper was swaying with Mia as Esme and Alice got party decorations and Rosalie was making snacks for Mia.

Emmett and Carlisle were setting up paper lanterns and tables. Edward was unlucky enough to be the one to distract Bella as they set up her last minute party. Thankfully Luka decided to help them by buying presents for Bella and putting their names on them.

"You're such an amazing dancer, little darling, just wait in a few years this party will be all for you and we'll dance the night away together......after I steal you from your mommy and daddy" Jasper softly spoke to his niece who happily clapped her hands "Jassy!" She cheered making Jasper laugh and kiss her head. Rosalie walked in and smiled at the sight of her twin and daughter.

Mia was unique like Bella. When she was around, Alice couldn't see the future, Edward couldn't read minds, and Jasper couldn't feel everyone else's emotions. Plus her scent tamed all of their bloodlust. She was like a long awaited aspirin for a migraine.

Rosalie shook her head from the thoughts and walked over carrying a tray with cut up soft fruits and yogurt with a sippy cup of juice "Having fun without me?" She asks jokingly and sets the tray on the coffee table. Mia snaps her head up and reached out making grabby hands "Momma!" Rosalie's face lights up and she immediately reaches for her daughter "Well, hello to you too, Angel" Rosalie says once Mia is in her arms. Rosalie situates Mia on her lap while Jasper helps Alice hang up fairy lights around the dining room and living room.

Rosalie starts to feed Mia some mangoes as those are her favorite when Luka walks in carrying ten neatly wrapped presents "Where should I put these?" He asks, before anyone can answer Esme walks out carrying a cake "Surround them around the cake!" She says as she sets the cake in the center of the table. Luka obeys and neatly places them around the cake.

Everyone, excluding Edward and Bella, look around at their hard work.

Alice suddenly turned to Rosalie and said "Gimme!" She plucked Mia up from her arms and carried her off to her bedroom. Once there Alice wiped Mia's hands and face with a wet wash cloth before changing her into a party dress.

And a pair of white leggings and black Mary Jane's. She placed a giant black bow on her head.

She then scooped Mia up into her arms and carried her straight back to Rosalie. Once back in her mother's arms Mia watched as Alice glided up the stairs to get Bella. Rosalie smiled down at Mia before placing a kiss on top of her head "You look so pretty, princess, Aunt Alice did such a good job!" Mia beamed up at her mother before catching sight of Emmett and making grab hands for him "Dada!" She yelled, wanting to be held by the man who hadn't hugged her since she arrived at the Cullens.

Emmett smiled before scooping her up out of Rosalie's arms and twirled her around before bringing her down into a tight, but gentle hug. Emmett kissed Mia's head before saying "Hello princess" Mia beamed before giving her father a slobbery kiss in return. Emmett didn't mind, however, as he stared down at his daughter with unconditional love and adoration. Rosalie chuckled before grabbing a napkin from the table and wiping Emmett cheek. Emmett looked over at his wife and his heart swelled with even more love.

For years it killed Emmett not being able to provide Rosalie with the thing she wanted most. It also killed Carlisle as he felt that he was to blame for Rosalie's silent pain.

But after meeting Mia and establishing a soul bond with her. The sadness and insecurity that Rosalie felt since she awoke as a vampire dwindled into nothing more than a faded memory.

Bella came downstairs with Alice and a reluctant Edward following. Alice immediately started the night with dinner (for the humans) then it was time for cake and singing. Then it was finally time for presents. Luka, thankfully behaved and didn't give her any maternity or baby clothes.

After that, it was time for the Swan's to leave. Bella of course blackmailed the Cullens for a baby shower next and the begrudgingly agreed. Bella was disappointed in not receiving the gift she wanted most from Edward, a wedding ring.
