📍THE THRONE ROOM, ASGARD

Loki was to be brought before Odin for his crimes in Midgard.

The great golden doors of the throne room creaked open, you and Thor entered with his brother in tow.

Loki was bound in enchanted cuffs, his mouth locked behind a muzzle until Thor finally removed it. The metal clinked as it came off, and Loki opened and closed his jaw in quiet relief.

"Loki..." Frigga breathed, taking a step forward before stopping herself.

"Hello, mother," Loki rasped, his voice hoarse from disuse, "Have I made you proud?"

"Please, don't make this worse," Frigga pleaded.

Loki tilted his head with mock thoughtfulness, "Define 'worse'."

"Enough," Odin's voice rang through the hall like a crack of thunder, low and commanding. He stood tall on the steps before the throne, gold armor glinting in the light, his gaze cold and fixed.

"I really don't see what all the fuss is about," Loki said with a light chuckle, raising his cuffed hands in a casual gesture.

"Do you truly not feel the gravity of your crimes?" Odin barked, his voice firm. "Wherever you go, there is war, ruin, and death."

Loki kept smiling, but you caught it—the faint tremble in features, the brief hitch in his breath. The words had struck something. And still, he stood there pretending they hadn't.

"I came here to rule the people of Earth as a benevolent god. Just like you," he said evenly.

Thor exhaled heavily beside him, folding his hands in front of him with restraint.

"We are not gods. We are born, we live, we die. Just as humans do," Odin said firmly.

"Give or take 5,000 years," Loki added with a halfhearted shrug.

Odin shook his head, his tone devoid of emotion. "All of this because Loki desires a throne."

"It is my birthright," Loki replied, without hesitation.

"Your birthright was to die!" Odin's voice rose, echoing across the vaulted hall. "As a child, cast out onto a frozen rock."

The way Odin's words cut, the way Loki endured them like a man already broken. His silence then was not surrender; it was survival.
