The next couple days had started to all meld together, you hadn't slept much anymore so it was hard to determine where one day ended and another began. Your nights were spent in the forest around the castle mostly now, hunting. Instead of containing your availabilities, you worked to strengthen them. Late night trips to the forest had helped you keep a clear head. It was a liberating experience, the fresh air had made you realize the whole forest was your home, no matter where in it you were. You felt yourself grow stronger, more attuned to your beast blood thanks to the help of a certain vampiric friend.

Alucard hadn't known much of your affliction until now, having pulled out a few books from the Belmont library to do some research. He tried his best to understand so he could make you happy, though he didn't realize you would just be happy that he cared so much. All the research he did seemed to keep his mind off of the death of his father, so you hadn't bothered to tell him to stop.

Right now you had been returning from another late night, weaving between the trees in your beast form. You'd gone farther than ever before, expanding the borders of the territory you claimed. Alucard had said claiming territory would help you expand your abilities, and he was right. You had a sense of belonging within the forest now, it kept a bit of order in the chaos of your affliction. Since you had gone out so much farther this time, Alucard was growing a bit worried, though not enough to search for you yet. He waited in the large doorway of the now empty castle, the one you used as shelter for now until you could finally get that house built together.

When he promised to build you a house he had wasted no time. At first you were unsure if you'd be able to pull it off together and assured him that he didn't need to build you anything but he insisted. Alucard was quick to figure out how to build structures and begin construction. You'd help him of course but he was mostly in charge of the project, it was nice to have something to do together though. Your strength in human form had grown as well, you'd be able to help him move materials and chop down trees quickly so it made construction go by faster.

You'd finally see the castle in the distance, picking up your pace to reach it. Alucard could hear you coming, farther than any human could hear. He'd hold a blanket, seeing you approach now.

When you finally got back and your body returned to it's original form, Alucard threw a blanket over you. He was always quick to advert his eyes, after every time you'd transform back you would end up naked, as expected. Alucard would just wrap you in the blanket gentle, carful since during this moment you'd be at your weakest. It was always a painful process to transform, you were still getting used to it so you had needed aftercare still. Alucard provided that, holding you close until you calmed down, trying his best to soothe your pain.

"Inhale {Y/n}... Relax." He'd say, your head resting against his chest as he brushed your hair down with his hand gently. You did as he said, closing your eyes for a moment as you inhaled deeply. Once you were calm you'd open your eyes again, but you hadn't moved yet.

"Sorry I took so long." You started.
"It's fine, as long as you don't overdo it." He said.
"Of course, though I don't think it's possible for me to overdo it with you watching out for me." You said, giving him a small smile.

Alucard stared at you for a moment, his eyes then softening. Part of him worried about your commitment to being here with him, if you got uncomfortable would you change your mind? Would you leave him if he became too dependant? This was why he tried so hard to make sure you were comfortable, to make sure you'd never want to leave. If you ever did decide to leave he wouldn't stop you of course, but he feared being left alone.

If he was alone for an eternity like his father was, would he turn out the same?

That was the thought that sparked fear in his head, though his expression never gave it away. For now he ignored that thought and placed a quick kiss to your forehead. "Come, you must be tired." He said, standing up with you in his arms afterwards.
