- Flashback to November 10, 2002, when y/n and Five got trapped into the apocalypse-Grace gently placed the record for Herr Carlson onto the record player.
"During extreme weather conditions, a climber must possess the wisdom to determine when evacuation is inevitable".
Grace gently picks up and rings the bell for dinner. She stood patiently, eagerly waiting for the siblings to hurry down to supper.
"A controlled alpine descent...."
Y/N'S POV:
"I fucking hate math!" I spat, looking down at my notepad, scowling at the equations. "When am I ever going to need this!?"
Grace's bell echoed throughout the corridors, chiming into all of the siblings rooms. Within an instant I heard them running down the stairs. I slammed the book down on my desk instantly, relief filling me. I soon heard footsteps pass my door as I stood up. I spacial jumped outside my room, meeting five.
"Wow you've been practicing your spacial jumps" Five smiled.
"I have! I'm guessing you have too? I haven't seen you in ages"
"You're right! I'm also making lots of progress" He grins, hugging me gently. "Well....are you ready to go downstairs?"
"I am now your here"
Five took my hand in his, locking our fingers together as we swiftly made our way downstairs.
"......begins the girding of one's loins" Herr Carlson spoke through the record player.
The fireplace brought a dancing glow into the cold atmosphere of our house, lighting up the parts that happiness couldn't. After all, it seems as if Father doesn't even love us. We have numbers as names, sometimes I can't help but think why he adopted us.
We stood behind our chairs, eagerly waiting for Father to enter before we could sit. He soon entered, marking in with an expressionless face. I swear even at the bottom of his heart, there is no love in this man.
"Sit!", Father demand, sitting at at the head of the table.
We all tucked into our supper, but then I noticed something was off with five. I watched as he fiddled with his knife, then looked over to stare intensely at father.
BANG
Five slammed his knife into the table. The plates clattered as the table shook.
"Five! what are you doing?" I whisper.
"Don't worry. I can handle this one" He reassured me, the frown on his face not softening.
I looked over to father. He looked up angrily.
"Number Five?!" Dad spoke through gritted teeth.
"I have a question"
"Knowledge is an admirable goal, but you know the rules. No talking during mealtimes, you are interrupting Herr Carlson!" Father snapped, as he shoved a piece of beef into his mouth.
Five threw his cutlery down, our siblings snapping their heads in his direction. I was growing impatient
"I want to time travel!" Five spat.
"No!"
"But I'm ready. I've been practicing my spacial jumps just like you said" Five boasted, teleporting beside Father "See?!"
"A spacial jump is trivial when compared with the unknowns of time travel. One is like sliding along the ice, other is akin to descending blindly into the depths of the freezing water. Then reappearing as an acorn". Father spoke, his voice cutting through the silence that was brought among us.
