Where? When? And who?
Luna P.O.V
After Maya finally let us go, I immediately went to my room. I was exhausted. I quickly changed out of my clothes and into my sleepwear. With quick steps, I made my way over to my bed. "Ahh comfy" I said as I laid my head on my pillow. Before I knew it, I had fallen asleep.
I don't know how long I had been asleep for, before I was suddenly being woken up by a loud thud. I slowly opened my heavy eyelids "What the hell?". I looked around the room and that was when I realized I was in the basement again. "How-" my thought process was cut short when I heard another loud bang coming from deep within the tunnels of the mansion. The mansion had hundreds if not thousands of underground tunnels leading everywhere in the city. I slowly rose from the cold basement floor and started walking towards the basement door, which was leading into the tunnels. I was about to grab the doorknob to enter the tunnels but that was when I noticed the white dress I was currently wearing. "When did I?" I said to myself as I looked around me. I heard a little door squeak. I turned around again and saw the door leading into the tunnels open for me. I could not move for a good 10 seconds. What I saw behind the door was unbelievable and impossible "What the". Behind the door was a beautiful green and violet forest. I could hear birds and other animals coming from within it. My jaw dropped. Without further hesitation, I stepped inside the door and immediately right after the door disappeared. I frantically looked around me. "Where am I?" I asked, hoping to get an answer from within the forest. I started walking around, looking around trying to make sense of where I was. I came to a halt when a path suddenly appeared in front of me. And again, without hesitation I let the forest guide me to where I was meant to be. I had a feeling that something or someone was waiting for me.
I had been walking for some time now but then the path came to an end, to a clearing in the forest. This place was absolutely beautiful. There were birds and butterflies flying around everywhere, making this clearing seem like the most lively and happy part of the whole forest. There were flowers, bushes, and trees with fruit on them. Though I have never seen any fruit like them before. I could see animals too. They were crawling around in the bushes and in the crowns of the trees. Small fireflies were swarming around in the shadows lighting them up. A mild wind blew by making me shudder from the wind's embrace. I started walking further into the clearing, but I came to a halt again. "Is that?" I asked myself "Water? A waterfall?". I quickly walked towards the sound of splashing and running water. I was mind blown. This had to be the most peaceful and beautiful thing I had ever seen. The waterfall was ginormous. You could not even see the bottom of it. My eyes were wide open looking down at the falling water. I was so mesmerized by this forest and all its' wonders.
My thoughts were interrupted by the sounds of footsteps approaching me. I slowly turned around and to my surprise, I was not the only one in here. Before me stood a tall and slim figure. He was wearing all white, just as I was. Does this world have a dress code? I thought to myself as I looked at his outfit. Before now I had not looked at his face but when I did, I felt something weird inside me. My eyes locked with his. He was smiling gently at me. His eyes were so warm and in some way, understanding. It was as if he looked at me and understood everything I had been feeling completely. Though it was like his eyes were hiding something, something very important. They intrigued me. I was curious about this man. I began walking closer to him. He did not move or flinch when I stood right in front of him. His eyes were still gentle and tender. I normally would not be this bold and walk up to strangers but there was something about him that made me have the strength to investigate.
After I had been looking at him for a while, he suddenly placed his hand in front of him. I looked at his hand then back up at his eyes. He slowly tilted his head as if he was waiting for my answer. Without breaking eye contact I placed my hand ever so gently in his. His smile grew even more making the edges of his eyes crinkle adorably. He slowly turned around, now leading me deep into the forest. We were straying from the path which would usually make me wary but this time I was not. I felt comforted and safe. I looked down at our hands. My cheeks began flushing. The guy would keep on looking back at me with a dazzling smile which made my heart beat faster. Even though we were moving further into the forest and the forest slowly became darker, I was not scared. That was till we came to a new clearing.
The clearing looked like a copy and paste of the first clearing except for the fact that everything around here was dead and dark. I stood beside the guy still holding his hand. We started walking towards the edge where the waterfall was supposed to be. I looked down and all I could see was nothingness. No bottom, no water, just nothing. Without realizing it the guy had disappeared from my side. All the feelings that I had not been feeling this far came flooding over me. Fear, terror, distress, and the most prominent solidarity. I kept looking around me, but he was nowhere to be found. I felt lost and hopeless. I felt heartbroken. That is when I felt a gentle hand on my shoulder. I quickly turned around and there I saw him. But this time he was different. His gentle and tender eyes were now replaced by wild and angry ones. The warmth and comfort his touch gave me before were now replaced by a forceful and demanding feeling. I stood there looking at him with terror in my eyes. I started backing away from him slowly. He moved closer. With each step, he took it was as if my vision became blurry. I stopped backing away from him when I had reached the edge of what was supposed to be the waterfall. I gulped, now knowing how this was going to end. He was standing directly in front of me. No more space between the two of us. I looked him in the eyes and that was when I saw it. I saw hatred, agitation, jealousy but most importantly fear. He was scared out of his mind.
As if he knew what I had just seen, he took a step back from me. He started shaking and crying. No not crying. He was weeping. I tried to take a step closer to him, which was something I should have never done. He looked up at me with hatred and aggression in his eyes. My eyes widened. I saw a glimpse of his white fangs as he licked his teeth and lips. I took a step back out of fear. And that is when I felt it. Or when I did not feel it.
I saw him standing where I once stood on the edge looking down at my falling body. I was falling. And I was falling into the abyss. It looked as if he was blown away by the wind. He disappeared just like he had appeared earlier. Out of nothing. My view became darker and darker as I was falling deeper and deeper into the dark pit. That was till I felt a striking pain in my spine. The pain was so painful that it woke me up from what I could only describe as a very realistic dream.
My eyes shot open as I cried out a prayer for help. I heard footsteps quickly approaching my room. A very worried Savannah came rushing in. She wrapped her arms around me "Hey, hey hey.. It is alright... Luna you are okay". I was still weeping as the pain had not completely gone yet. Maya came tumbling into the room. "What is going on?!" she yelled as she held a bat over her head. She looked ready to knock someone out. When she finally saw me crying in Savannah's arms, she quickly put down the bat and made her way over to the other side of my bed. Maya put a comforting hand on my back. "It still hurts" I said "Why does it still hurt". I was crying my eyes out. "I don't know Luna" Savannah said and looked over at Maya "Can you do something?". Maya quickly nodded and started chanting while keeping her hand on my back.
"Earth below, sky above, fill the dark of night with love. The morning sun will take her pain and she will wake renewed again". After Maya had finished the last of her chant, I started feeling numb and exhausted. Savannah slowly laid me down on my bed again. Maya pulled the duvet over me. And after that, I fell asleep.

As Savannah and Maya had laid Luna back to sleep, they both started discussing the frequent nightmares Luna had. "What do we do about her frequent nightmares?" Maya asked as she began stroking Luna's face gently. "I have no idea" Savannah said as she was looking around Luna's room "The thing is she does not even remember her nightmares". Maya looked concerned at Luna's sleeping face. "This is like the third time this week" Maya said as she stood up walking towards the door. "I know... It is bizarre. Out of anyone she should be the one to remember her dreams and nightmares" Savannah said as she followed Maya to the door. "I'm really curious as to what she is dreaming about" Maya said as she took one last look at Luna. "Me too... Or who... She keeps calling out someone's name in a language I do not understand" Savannah said as she also took one last look at Luna. Maya looked confused at Savannah. "Come on" Savannah said as she gave Maya a comforting smile "We have a lot to do tomorrow". With that, the two girls left Luna's room.
