New Form of Trials (Part 1)

Luna P.O.V

We were all waiting for one of them to speak up or do something. Minutes of silence had already gone by. I tried clearing my throat. Everyone turned to me. Shit. I bit down on my lip. Soobin closed his eyes tightly before sighing. "Now that we're over that, why are you guys following us?" Soobin looked Savannah dead in the eyes. Savannah raised one eyebrow in disbelief "Excuse me what?". Soobin stood as close as he could to the barrier. "I said. Why are you hunting down my pack?" his eyes went cold. Savannah let out a short laugh. Soobin raised his eyebrows in disbelief. "I'm sorry but WE haven't been hunting down YOUR pack" Savannah stared right back at him. Everyone went quiet. "She isn't lying" Taehyun spoke up "Her heart didn't skip a beat". Soobin looked back at Taehyun, taking in his words. "It doesn't make sense. Ever since you three attended our school, we've gotten threatening letters, items gone missing and not to forget all the dead bodies" Soobin turned to the guys. "Wait what?" Maya spoke up in shock "Dead bodies?! And you think it's us doing that". "Well you guys timed your appearance perfectly" Beomgyu put his hands in his pockets "And we didn't know exactly what you guys were. You might as well have been cold-blooded murderers". Maya crossed her arms.

"Okay but really dead bodies have been turning up?" all of them nodded their heads.

"I'm surprised you guys haven't heard of it. But then again, you're witches which probably explains a lot" Taehyun tilted his head in a teasing manner.

Maya's face became red with anger "Listen here pup"

I stopped Maya before she could continue "How did they die?"

They all looked at each other. No one wanted to answer.

I was about to speak but Yeonjun cut me off "Killed".

"Killed? That's it?" I raised my eyebrows.

"Want every detail sweetheart? Snatched, grabbed, mogged, clawed, stabbed, bitten and torn apart by the perpetrator's bare hands. That's how they were killed"

Everyone went quiet again. Soobin closed his eyes tightly "It's brutal. And we thought that you guys might have the answers"

He looked at Savannah with hopeful eyes. Savannah rubbed her forehead in frustration.

"Listen, this is new to us. We had no idea that all of this was happening. We were just trying to figure out what you guys were AND all the other students. How in the Goddess' name is this not common knowledge?"

"The school and the government are keeping it under wraps until they have some sort of lead"

"So, my guess is that they don't have a lead yet" I crossed my arms

"No"

I sighed feeling really frustrated

"How many?" I looked at Beomgyu, expecting him to tell me the truth.

He looked down at the ground, avoiding my gaze.

"Too many" Yeonjun spoke up looking me dead in the eye "How many is too many?" I returned his gaze. "Thirteen"

"Holy shit" I got goosebumps. I felt a stinging pain in my spine and lower back. "Ow shit" I put a hand on my lower back and fell to my knees. "You good Luna?" Savannah gave me a worried look. I looked up and gave her a nod. I looked back at the guys and saw Yeonjun staring at me. He was scanning my entire body. His eyes met mine again. They were softer this time.

"Okay how about you guys get this stupid barrier down and we can get back to the others" Taehyun suggested. Maya raised her eyebrows "Uhm no thanks. By the way this 'stupid barrier' is what is keeping you guys from hurting us so what does that say about you". Maya smirked. Taehyun let out a short laugh. "Listen we're not gonna do anything to you guys. And if you don't believe us then remember this. All the teachers know where all the students are. Which means that they know you guys are with us. If you guys go missing, then the finger would be pointed at us almost immediately. And trust me we don't want any eyes on us" Soobin looked away for a second "Especially right now". I raised one eyebrow before getting up on my feet again "Why right now?". The guys looked between each other. Soobin sighed before looking me dead in the eyes "Because we're being suspected of killing the thirteen victims". Everyone went quiet. My heart started beating faster than before. "It doesn't really look good to be a werewolf right now, since it fits the evidence. The clawing, biting and ripping. It's not good" Soobin had a tired look on his face. "And you're telling us to get rid of this barrier. No WAY would we do that, especially now" Savannah stood her ground, looking Soobin straight in the eyes. Soobin's shoulders slumped a bit "I figured". Beomgyu and Kai both looked down at the ground. Yeonjun rolled his head back in frustration and Taehyun stood still with an indifferent expression.

Fourteenth

Luna P.O.V

I felt a cold breeze fly past me again. Not again. I looked around me frantically, expecting to the same woman from before but she was nowhere to be found. My body started to shake. I heard a faint whistle coming from the forest. I nudged Maya's arm "Do you hear that?". Maya looked in the same direction as me "No, what are you hearing?". "A whistle. A faint whistle" Maya looked at me with wonder in her eyes "What does that mean?". "I'm not sure, but it is definitely coming from inside the forest" I pointed in the direction of the whistling. Savannah was still talking with the guys until we all heard a loud crack, thump and then bushes rustling. We all stood completely still "Please tell me you heard that" Maya nodded frantically. "What the hell was that" Beomgyu said as he clung to Taehyun's right arm. I felt a magnetic pull. Without realising it I had already left our circle. "Luna" Savannah yelled out to me, but it was too late. The barrier was broken. I heard some rustling coming from one of the bushes. I held my breath in anticipation. My body was stiff, and my heart was beating way too fast. I took in a shaky breath. "What the hell is that sound?" Beomgyu said as he followed me. I heard a branch crack beside me. I jumped. "Chill, it's just me" Yeonjun looked at me with an annoyed expression. I shook my head trying to get my heartbeat to slow down. Yeonjun stepped in front of me and took the lead. The others followed us shortly.

We all came to a halt. Yeonjun straightened his back "Guys". "What is it?" Beomgyu asked as he made his way up to him. "Do you smell that?" Yeonjun turned his head to Beomgyu. He took a few sniffs and with each sniff, his face got paler and paler. He gulped "Blood". Yeonjun nodded before moving three or so branches out of our way. As he moved the last branch his back tensed up. "Fuck". Beomgyu came up to him to see what he had found. He quickly turned around again "Oh shit!". He had both of his hands on his head. "What?" I looked at Beomgyu "Shit shit shit". With curiosity, I tried looking past Yeonjun. "No. Don't Luna" I heard Beomgyu tell me. I peeked around Yeonjun and what I saw would haunt me for the rest of my life. The dead body of one of the campers, a student. My eyes widened in horror. Yeonjun quickly turned around placing himself right in front of me. He grabbed both of my arms and gently pushed me backwards. I began walking backwards, still in disbelief. The other guys quickly made their way over to Beomgyu. Kai told Savannah and Maya not to look. Savannah pushed past Kai to see what was happening. Her whole body tightened as she saw the sight of the dead student. Maya quickly followed her. She stumbled back but Kai caught her. I looked up to Yeonjun, trying to get confirmation of what I just saw "Was that-?". "Yes. Body number fourteen" we both stopped walking. He looked down at me, waiting for my reaction. I took in a shaky breath "Okay". He raised one of his eyebrows in amusement "Okay?". I took in another shaky breath before nodding. He tilted his head. "What?" I asked him "I don't know. I just thought you would have a bigger reaction than that". I let out a short, sarcastic laugh "I'm a witch who survived multiple witch hunts in the 1600 hundreds. I believe I've seen worse things". Yeonjun stood in disbelief by my statement. I took in one last deep breath. The others all came running back to us. "Guys we have to tell everyone or at least the teachers" Kai said with panic in her voice. "What?! No way! If we do that, they're really gonna think it is us" Beomgyu was stumbling over his words. "Then what do we do?!" everyone was freaking out. I looked at Yeonjun for a quick second. Maya cleared her throat. "I believe I know what we need to do" everyone turned to her. "At some point, people are gonna question where this kid is, and they are probably gonna find him sooner or later. When they do the police will be called here to take over this whole situation. They're gonna look at everything in this whole area, which means all our footprints and fingerprints. So, no matter what we will be called in" everyone seemed to really think about what she said. "Unless we undo it" Savannah looked up. "Sav" she cut me off "I know we are right in the open but do we really have a choice?". Maya and I both gave her a firm nod.

Savannah stepped closer to where we had walked. She closed her eyes and held out her hand. "Let the object or objection become but a dream" she opened her eyes "As I cause the seen to be unseen". The ground began making itself again. All our footprints soon disappeared along with everything else we had touched. All the guys were in shock "Holy shit". Maya and I laughed. "What? Never seen magic before" Savannah laughed. Soobin scratched his neck in embarrassment "No not really". "Okay guys we really should get back now. And remember, NO ONE knows about ANYTHING" everyone nodded in agreement. We all left the area.
