Volume 1 - Chapter 1 - Disaster Aftermath

December 19th. It was a good day. It has been a few weeks since the twins Itsuka Syouji and Itsuka Shidou went on a rampage after losing control of their Spirit powers.

The time was 10 am and the sun was shining and the wind carried a refreshing cool breeze. Syouji was standing in front of a cat [Meow].

The reason was simple. After the incident of his Reiryoku going out of control, he was told to find a way to relax.

After a long time of thinking, Syouji came to this conclusion—A cat cafe. Simply because Cats are cute and relaxing.

As opposed to Anime which could have him jumping around the room from excitement or get him wailing on the floor from sadness. It was a bit stressful.

Anyway, since it was early, there weren't that many people visiting the place. Due to that, the cats with various coloured-fur sat on the cushions and exercising machines.

"This place is definitely amazing....so many cats....as expected, this is good. If I go to Origami's house like I originally planned, I would definitely experience..... a different type of relaxation."

Syouji's eyes began sparkling as he gently approached one of the cats. But the cat instantly sensed his presence and ran away from him.

"As I thought, this will be hard. On to plan B."

After Syouji said that he then sat on the floor while minding his own business. Yes. This is the best way to get a cat to approach you. Studies show that cats often approach the ones who are brooding.

Wait for the cat to approach and only pet the cat when you get a nudge. Once the cat is in your presence and sniffing your hand, it's tempting to start petting.

Syouji got this information from the great philosopher, [Itsuki Shuuji]. His great teacher. He was truly wise in the ways of the cat. Truly.

At that point, a cute cat with snow-white fur and mismatched eyes approached.

At that, Syouji stayed still, not paying the cat any attention, until it got close enough. Then, Syouji held out his hand for the cat to sniff.

Cats know their way around through scents. A cat's sense of smell is about 40 times better than a regular human's.

Well, since losing control, Syouji's sense of smell became stronger. And lately, he feels the neep to nap so often that it has become ridiculous.

Was he becoming a cat, he wondered.

Then, while continuing his gargoyle-like statue pose, the small white cat wandered around Syouji's lightly closed fists and began sniffing the back of his hand.

It is also important that the cat has nothing to grab, in case it bites. If it were to bite him, it was possible that his Spirit powers could be exposed.

The cat was most likely doing this to know where he's been and what he was about. It was doing this to get to know Syouji.

He knew that from research.

Cats love to sniff. They cannot keep their noses out of people's business. Then, when the cat began nudging his hand, he began lightly petting it.

At that point, he heard a familiar voice.

"Ara ara, Syouji-san."

"Hmm?"

Syouji looked up and saw a girl with long black hair tied up in two black strands with her bangs covering her eye and squatting next to him.
