I see him talking to her.
Why is she laughing?
I want to make her laugh.
How does she look so perfect when she laughs?
What are they talking about even?
How is he getting her to laugh like that?
He's a little close. He needs to back away.

I want to get up and walk over to her but I don't want to ruin what they're talking about.

I did this to myself.
I woke up in the middle of the night and left her.
I had to do it.
I don't deserve her.
Not at all.
Clearly she still likes Steve.
So it's for the better for the both of us.

But if I keep staring at them talking on that couch watching Steve make her laugh, I think I might just see smoke fuming out of my ears.

I shouldn't be overprotective of her. She's not mine.
We just... mess around.
That doesn't make her mine though.

She doesn't belong with me. I've known her for only like three months. And in high school.
But she was never mine in high school either.

She just needs to set her shit straight with Steve and reject me so I can move on.

She's like a drug to me and I swear I'll overdose.

But she's also a prescription and I think I need her or I'll die.

"I- Eddie are you listening?" Dustin snaps me out of my thoughts and I turn to him.
"Huh what? Sorry." I apologize.
He sighs, "We're talking about the rise of Kas! What about the next DND game?"

I was zoned out this entire time and I have no clue what they're talking about, "Oh yeah right." I agree.

"Well what about the next game?" Dustin questions.
"What about it?" I question.
"We have no one for Kas." He states.

Shit he's right.

"You should have Rose play with us again." He suggests.
"What no. You have Rose play with us."
"She helped us win last game."
"Yeah so?"
"So she'd be a good addition to the club. She has the shirt anyway."

I pinch my eyes shut. I try to stop thinking about her but she follows me around like a disease everywhere.

"Let's talk about it later."

"Hey Eddie uh- I was gonna stay at Steve's tonight... um we don't have to but it's a place to stay while we get everything figured out." I hear Rose say.
She stands at the table looking at me.

Okay I talked to Steve about Rose so I can let her go. Not so I can third wheel. Jesus fuck.

"Uh yeah sure."

She nods her head and walks away back to the couch.

At least she talked to me.

I see Steve walk over to the kitchen.
"So uh me Rose and Eddie were gonna go back at my place tonight."

"Slumber party at Steve's house? Im in." Robin says.

"Why just you Rose and Eddie, Steve?" Dustin questions offended.
"That's not what I'm- you can come stay with us too I don't care." Steve says.
