"What?! I'm already going to solve a case with you?" you asked not being able to process things. "Don't worry I'll be here to help you out." Heizou said reassuring you that it's gonna be fine.

Earlier today you texted the boy about how things are going to go down, since you've overheard those two people talking at the mall yesterday. He still told you to meet up with him for your training, refusing to elaborate. This all lead to you coming here and finding out, that you'll be helping him out right now.

"Still, isn't it wrong to join you just like this? You studied all these years to do this job, and I'm just here without any knowledge about being a detecive." you looked at him nervously. "Nobody said you have to do the thinking here." he suddenly stated.

"You aren't trained at all, which is why I found this a good opportunity to show you how things usually go. Of course, you're very welcome to share your ideas or leads with me during the investigation, but I advise you to observe too." he continued in a more serious tone.

"Oh, right... I'm sorry for jumping into conclusions..." you looked at the floor, embarrassed. "No no, it's all good! Don't look so down! Umm.. here." the detective handed you a bar of chocolate, a bit flustered, trying to comfort you. "Cheer up, don't be so nervous." Heizou smiled at you.

You took the sweet from his hands, and started munching on it while waiting for him to get ready. He packed his bag full of stuff that could be of use, then signaled that you should follow him to his car.

It took like 10 minutes until the car suddenly parked somewhere. It was right infront of the police station. "I am going to collect some knowledge from the cops that they managed to gather yesterday, while talking to the lady. Wait for me here, I shouldn't take long." he said, getting out from the vehicle.

You nodded, obeying him. The radio was playing silently, which was used as white noise earlier while the two of you were talking. Today was a cloudy day, it was a bit chilly as well. You figured you should've brought a raincoat or an umbrella just in case, but it was too late now. All you could do was look out the window watching as more dark clouds gathered in the sky.

About 5 minutes later Heizou came back with a few papers in his hand. "I got the goods." he whispered in a germlin voice. "What?" you laughed. "Here is all the stuff that's important to us. Here, read through them, I already did." the boy uttered, starting the car.

The papers included where the missing kid was last seen, and testimonies from adults that last saw him. You looked through the text, trying to remember every detail that could've been of any importance to you.

Last seen at Wednesday, 10am. Both parents were in the house, when he suddenly vanshied without anyone noticing. His friends' parents do not know anything about him either, there were no signs of anyone breaking in.

As soon as you were done with reading, the car stopped again, but now it was at a house. "This is his parents' house." he claimed, while getting out. You followed him inside, where the boy's parents were already waiting. After a talk with them, Heizou decided that he'll first look around his room.

You had to admit his room was pretty cute! But this wasn't the time to think about that right now... The two of you looked around the room, not finding anything suspicious.

"If there's nothing here, how are we going to find him?" you asked, getting a little paranoid. "Calm down, there might be nothing inside, but we still haven't looked from the outside. I think we should be able to notice something from there."

You both headed outside arriving to where his window is. All it took was one glance around here, and Heizou's eyes lit up. "Did you find something?" you questioned. "I did, but I want you to notice it. Tell me, what stands out?" he looked at you.

You took a closer look around your surroundings, until you finally noticed a piece of clothing stuck in the window frame. "Ah, there!" you pointed towards the fabric. "Excellent! You didn't even take long." the boy exclaimed happily.

"My theory is that he sneaked out, and while trying to close the window, his shirt got stuck there. Since this window is pretty high up for a little kid like him, I assume the only way he could've escaped if he sacrificed a piece of his shirt." the detective started.

"Also, one thing you didn't notice is that there are pieces of catfood dropped around here."

"They are covered with dirt, of course I didn't notice! It's incredible that you saw that..." you praised him. "Haha, thank you..." he let out a flustered chuckle. "It's been two days since he got out, so some dirt got on it thanks to the slight wind around here. Come, let's follow these and hopefully we'll end up finding him!" the boy said grabbing your wrist, leading you.

You ended up walking quite far away, following these scattered singular dry catfood pieces. "A playground, huh..." Heizou looked around. "I say we split up, okay? Just shout if you found something. I'll do the same." he have you a smile, then walked off.

You were alone now, hopelessly looking around. You didn't even know where to begin, so you just started walking around the place. Suddenly, you could feel some raindrops on you, which made you want to look for shelter.

Gosh, I'm so stupid for not bringing anything with me! Now, where do I go... I need a place where I can see the entire playground from and look around from there.

You decided to climb up on one of those toy 'towers' from where a slide led down, and had a roof. You ran there quickly climbing up so you won't get any more wet and what you saw up there shocked you.

It was the little boy with a cat curled up next to him, catfood placed in front of the cat. "Oh my... just how did this kid survive these two days here?"

You knew it was cold and he only had a shirt on, so you had to do something. You had to sacrifice your sweather, even if it was raining so he wouldn't get sick. He already looked like he passed out. "HEIZOU!" you shouted.

After a long day, you were now both back at the detective's office. "I can't believe this boy went out of his way to follow a cat, trying to tame it with catfood, end up being lost in a nearby forest, and finally finding shelter on the playground." you said dumbfounded.

"Kids, do some VERY reckless stuff sometimes. But you know, he wasn't the only reckless one. You didn't bring a raincoat or an umbrella, and you also gave your sweater away, when it's pouring!" Heizou scolded you.

"Oh, that's right... I'm sorry, here you can have your sweater back."

Yes, back there the boy saw what happened, and he quickly gave you his sweater so you wouldn't catch a cold. "Keep it! How are you going to get home without the right clothing? It's literally raining. I'll also lend you my umbrella, you can just give them both back when we meet again." he smiled at you.

"Alright, thank you..." you murmured, embarrassed. "Well then, I'll get going now. Thank you for today, and for the experience!" you thanked him, then walked towards the door.

"Before you go..." the boy suddenly spoke up. "You did great, I'm proud of you."
