Both boys looked up, they see a women with shoulder length brown hair.
She looked like she hadn't suffered once. She didn't need to lift a finger.
Well fed.
Obviously clean.
He sees some makeup on her.
Painted nails.
Jewelery...
She looks familiar, she really does, but for the life of Ninja he couldn't place her similarly.
Ninja looks to Carl and he can see his face frozen.
He looks both pale and angry at the same time.
When Ninja looked back at the women...it was like an alarm went off in his head.
He got up an gently took Carl and brought them both inside.
"Wh-I I thought I." He was breaking down.
Ninja gently nudged him to his room, he bought him a water bottle.
"I..." Carl looked to him, but Ninja only softly caressed his hair.
Ninja left the room, assured that Carl is feeling somewhat better.
He came down the stairs, only to hear the insistent knocking, as he locked the door.
He goes to it and sees...Carl's mom...
"Wheres my son?!" She instantly demands.
"Wheres my husband?" She talks.
"Talk to me damnit! Give me my son!"
And that's when Ninja lost it.
He slammed the shut.
"That's my son." Ninja said.
"You lost that right when you abandoned him. Now leave."
"Your son! Who the hell do you think you are?" She yelled.
"I'm the one that kept him alive! I saved him from your neglected hands! Hell you shoved him into walker infested streets! I saved my son! You abandoned and practically killed yours!" Ninja yelled, he started coughing.
His throat hurting from low use, and from his screaming.
The women stood there her hands crossed over her chest.
They somehow made it in he middle of the road, somehow amidst the yelling. And just wanting her away from his house.
His family.
"That's...not what happened..." She stuttered, glaring at him.
Ninja scoffed, perfectly recalling how they met.
"How the hell would you know!?" She yelled.
"I. Was. There.
I saw you push him in the road!
I saw you how you ran.
I heard him calling for you!
But you kept running, not looking back...
I did! I stopped! I saved him, I made sure he stayed alive! I fed him! Sheltered him!
I saved him!
You killed him!
He's my son.
Now leave my family alone."
"You can't claim him! I'm his mom. He's dad is dead! He needs his mother-"
"Mom"
Ninja turned and there stood Carl...Not only Carl but half of the community.
Including Rick and his group.
"Carl baby." His mom, Lori said.
But what he did, surprised her.
He immediately went to Ninja, and took his hand in his.
