The sun was shining brightly in the sky as the civilians in Arkadia were walking around and doing their jobs like they were always doing. The chirps of birds and buzzes of insects could be heard all around, the animals flying high in the sky. The tall trees creating the many forests all around the planet could be seen, some animals being seen running past the tree trunks. The guards of Arkadia could be seen near the front gate as they kept watch in case of any threats that made themselves present during the day.
The garden in the large camp of the citizens who all once lived up in space on the Ark together was large as it usually was, vegetables and fruits and flowers growing as the gardeners of the camp pulled out the new food that eventually finished growing so everyone in Arkadia could be fed once the cooks made something up for everyone.
Only about a day or so had gone by since the attack at Mount Weather, killing many people and now, there was to be a memorial for the loved ones who had been killed. Chatters could be heard all around the camp as the workers walked around, some going back and forth at what type of job they were doing.
By the well outside, the two best friends could be seen as one of them was taking gulps of the water in the bucket she was holding. Y/n was sitting at the edge of the well, her elbows resting on her knees as she played with the knife she had been holding in her hands, twirling it around her fingers while Octavia tilted her head back, taking a gulp of the water in the bucket she had gotten from the well she was standing on.
The sound of a familiar voice calling out a familiar name caught their attention as Octavia pulled the bucket away, her cheeks puffed up and full of water as they looked to where the voice was coming from. Jasper was stomping towards the gate, a backpack on his back as Monty was trailing right behind him, calling out to his best friend. Gulping down the water, Octavia shared a glance with her best friend before she was placing the bucket down as Y/n got up to her feet and rushed over to them just as Jasper shouted at Monty.
"Hey! Jasper, what's wrong?" Octavia asks.
"He's not going to the memorial." Monty tells them.
"It's a little late for a Mount Weather memorial, don't you think?" Jasper comments.
Before either one of them could say anything more, a voice on the P.A. caught everyone's attention outside as the guards rushed to the main gate once being told to. The four teenagers were following, the girls being at the front just as they spotted Nyko ahead with some other grounders.
Taking a glance back at the boys, Y/n was the first to jog up ahead with Octavia behind her as a guard had grabbed ahold of a grounder, but Nyko had stopped him just as they got to the group, the girls demanding for the guards to stop before one of the grounders got seriously injured because of the guards.
