Birds chirping outside stirred me out of my peaceful sleep. Everything from last night immediately came flooding back. Although I was mad at my family for keeping something this huge from me, Rooster was the best thing to ever happen to me.

Rolling over, I'm met with cold air where Rooster was laying last night. Flinging the covers off of me, I started making my way downstairs. I knew he had to work today, but maybe I caught him in time?

My footsteps were the only sound I heard around the house. Coming to a stop in the kitchen, I see a unfamiliar note laying on the counter.

Hi, beautiful. I had to go to work but I'll see you later, maybe? Text me when you get up :)

A warm bubbly feeling arose in my chest as I pinned the note to the fridge. Despite our complications at the moment, he quickly became my best friend. He was everything I ever wanted in a relationship.

I was off today, so I was planning on just hanging out around the house. Maybe I'll ask Phoenix if she wants to do something after she gets off or Rooster and I could get take out and have a movie night.

Playing a few keys on my keyboard, I hear my phone ringing a few feet away. Sighing, I leaned back on my bed and grabbed it before answering.

"You're on speaker." I call out, placing my phone beside my keyboard before playing a few keys. "Hey, princess." Rooster calls out.

"Gross." I hear Phoenix laugh. "Oh, hey Phoenix!" I call, teasing Rooster by not greeting him. "Hey, Rae!" She greets.

"Oh, no, 'Hey, babe. How was your day?'" Rooster teases. "My day was great, thanks for asking." I chuckle, turning my keyboard off before laying down on my stomach next to my phone.

"Unbelievable." He laughs, thankfully catching on to my teasing tone. "I'm just kidding. How was work?" I ask, mainly because I knew he had to see my father today after last night.

He clears his throat before speaking up, his voice darker.

"Yeah, I'll tell you more about it later but we were wondering since you're off today if you want to come to the bar with us?" He asks, Phoenix chiming in at the end.

"Please! Halo and I need back up." Phoenix chimes. "So you two are asking me to go in on my day off?" I tease, picking at my nails.

"Bob too." Phoenix hums. "I'll be right beside you the whole time." Rooster says, easing my nerves. He knew my mom worked there, but I knew if I needed him tonight he'd be right there in an instant.

"Fine. I'll meet you guys there." I chuckle, getting up off my bed and beginning to search through my closet for an outfit. "Yes!" Phoenix cheers as I pick through various tops.

"Cool, I'll see you soon." Bradley chirps. "Yep. Give me like ten minutes." I nod, deciding on a tight black crop top. "See you then."

"See ya." I chirp before hanging up, placing my phone on the charger before slipping out of my casual clothes and standing in front of my dresser in just my underwear.

Sliding open a drawer, I picked through my jeans. Finally, my eyes landed on my ripped mom jeans.

Once I had completely changed, I slipped on some socks and my Doc Martins before making my way downstairs with everything I needed in my purse.

Pushing open the bar door, I scanned the room for my boyfriend. Phoenix nudges his side as soon as I enter, earning his attention before his eyes lift to find mine.
