Lies

Whenever we chant,
He stands in front of our closed eyes,
And asks for a wish he can grant,
Anything other than lies.

But what can I ask for?
I'm but a mere soul with a dream-like body,
This life, this dream is so sour,
Why should I ask him something,
That's not going to make me free?
That's not going to drag me closer to Him,
That's not going to make Him accept me forever and ever?

He stands with his closed eyes,
And smiles,
Because I have asked for anything but lies,
Because I've asked for His smile.

But until when can I continue to see?
To feel and to perceive Him?
Until when can I fulfil my wish?
There can be a day, just like yesterday,
When I might forget Him again...

What would happen to me?
Will I be able to live without His existence in my life?
Can I really be free at that time?
But yes, that kind of life will be nothing but a lie.
