The week went by pretty fast considering Zoey was still in MED but Jay spent the entire time by her side sleeping in her room and refused to go home and sleep. He didn't wanna leave her side. Reid spent most days in her room or she'd wheel herself over to his room and they'd spend the day just hanging out along with the team that would stop in to check on both the agents.

Thankfully both Zoey and Reid were being released from Med today, they were both told to take it easy and rest for a month or so, they'd both have a few follow-up appointments before they would be cleared for basically desk duty until they were cleared for the field again.

Zoey sighed as Jay drove her back to her and Kelly's house, the blonde's stomach was turning. She hadn't seen Kelly since they got into a fight over Benny a week ago and they hadn't talked since then either. Jay could tell the blonde was nervous especially since she hadn't said anything the entire drive to her house.

Kelly & Zoey's Townhouse, Chicago

"We can always go to my place," he suggested as he parked the truck in the driveway in front of the garage as Zoey just sat there staring at the house. "Sure, but I should start packing a few things first like the essentials before we go," Zoey said climbing out of the vehicle. Thankfully the explosion didn't rebreak her ribs again, but it did give her a nasty concussion and a collapsed lung that was healing faster than the doctors expected it to.

The blonde started walking towards the front door honestly hoping Kelly was at work, She didn't wanna see him right now not to mention she didn't know what to tell him. She wanted to tell him how happy she was to be moving in with Jay and to be taking this huge step after Jack. Typically she and her brother would talk to each other about huge decisions like this, It's just how they were but with this stupid fight Zoey didn't get the chance.

She sighed unlocking the front door and pushing it open before walking inside noticing it was empty. He must be at work, Zoey sighed in relief before walking across the room and heading straight for her room before she began throwing her whole room into a large suitcase, Most of which were clothes and a couple of photos. The blonde turned and walked past Jay and out of the room and into the bathroom taking all her stuff and throwing it in the suitcase before she zipped it up.

The room was basically empty again, as Zoey looked around at the stripped bed, empty closet and bare surfaces. I'll come back for the rest later, she thought as she rolled the suitcase towards the door only to have Jay stop her from taking the bag as he picked it up and took it outside to his truck. Zoey looked around the living room picking up her photo of Kelly, Shay, Gabby and her standing there smiling next to each other. Kelly, Zoey and Gabby were all kissing Shay's cheeks as Shay was laughing in the photo frozen in time.

The blonde took a shakey breath, taking the photo before she walked towards the front door locking it behind her and making her way down the walkway and into the passenger seat of Jay's truck. The detective sat in the driver's seat, "You ready?" he asked as Zoey just silently nodded staring at the photo in her lap.

The grey pickup truck backed out of the driveway and started driving toward Jay's apartment, "Why don't you call him?" Jay suggested noticing Zoey still staring at the photo in her lap. "Because I don't know what to tell him and I can't do what he thinks I should," she replied softly turning the photo frame over she wasn't looking at it anymore. "Zo your relationship with Benny shouldn't affect your relationship with your brother," Jay said. "Tell him that, Plus we gotta go settle these things back at your place and then we gotta get ready for dinner tonight with the team," Zoey said forcing a smile in Jay's direction.

"Did Rossi mention where we're going?" Jay asked as he parked his truck along the curb in front of his apartment complex. Zoey stood there staring at the building, "Villa Italia, downtown and the reservation is at 6 pm sharp," the blonde said hopping out of the truck and going to grab the suitcase but Jay beat her to it. "You're supposed to be taking it easy beautiful," he said sending her his signature smile that made her instantly smile and melt her heart. "I know, I know" She replies as she started walking to the front door as Jay unlocked it letting them inside.

The two walked up a flight of stairs pausing in front of his apartment as Zoey unlocked the door with the key Jay made for her this morning. "Welcome home, beautiful" the detective said after they walked in.

He shut the door and set the suitcase down walking over to his beautiful blonde girlfriend. "I love you," he said softly pressing his lips to hers. Zoey quickly began kissing him back before she broke the kiss resting her forehead on his. "I love you too," she said softly smiling at him. "I'm gonna shower and get ready, Wanna join?" she asked the detective with a devilish smirk as she gathered her shower products from her bag before heading over to the shower.

Zoey and Jay eventually showered after messing around for almost an hour before they both got out, dried off and started getting dressed. "Shit, Jay we gotta be at the restaurant in 20 minutes," she said as she pulled her black stilettos shoes on her feet that matched her black dress that fit her curves perfectly and ended mid-thigh.

The two dashed out of the apartment and out to Jay's truck before the detective took off towards the restaurant. Zoey and Jay held hands the entire drive to the restaurant and all the way inside the restaurant that was located on the top floor of one of Chicago's tallest skyscrapers.

Villa Italia, Downtown Chicago

To say the restaurant was formal would be an understatement, Zoey knew this wasn't really Jay's scene and he knew it wasn't really hers either. "Rossi party," the blonde said walking up to a podium where the female hottest stood eyeing Jay up in front of her causing her blood to boil. Breath Zo, she told herself. "Right this way," she said sending Jay a smirk without even noticing Zoey.

The hostess lead them through the dining room and out to a large private table on a balcony overlooking the city, Zoey lived here her whole life and had never seen Chicago like this it was honestly breathtaking. Jay pulls Zoey's seat out for her like a true gentleman before taking a seat next to her. "Superwoman, Loverboy. Nice of you to join us," Morgan joked about them being late. "Sorry, was moving some stuff into Jay's and lost track of time," she replied honestly. "Not to worry I ordered a few bottles of champagne and s few entres to start us off," Rossi said.

The night carried on and everyone was through the first bottle of champagne and the conversation had shifted to what everyone wanted to do once they retired. Zoey wasn't sure all she could do was work she couldn't picture her life not flying out and hunting down unsubs even if it chipped away at her would the longer she worked the job. "What about you?" Zoey asked looking at Jay along with the rest of the team.

"I would get a cabin up in northern Wisconsin, on a lake, go fishing, camping grow old with the love of my life and maybe start a family," Jay said looking at Zoey. "Sounds like you got it all figured out," Zoey said to him. "Mostly I'm just missing one crucial part," he replied keeping his focus on the blonde. "Oh yeah, what's that?" she asked him curiously as she took a sip of the champagne in her hand.

Jay took a breath pushing his chair out before kneeling down in front of the blonde on one knee and pulled out a box. "You're the most incredible badass woman, I've ever met. Cases come and go, homes come and go; I don't want you to come and go. Marry me?" he asked opening the box holding a gorgeous blue diamond that wasn't huge.

Zoey sat there completely in shock, but nodded her head yes, "Yes?" he asked with a smile forming on his face. "Yes," she smiled back as Jay placed the ring on her left ring finger before placing a kiss on the blonde's lips as everyone began to cheer. "Salue" Rossi said raising his glass to toast the soon-to-be married couple. "Salue" everyone else said raising a toast along with Zoey and Jay.
