There's Only So Much Pain Someone Can Take

Skylar sat in the dining room in the Byers household as Caitlin just sat there not saying anything.
Steve didn't know what to do. He wanted to help but he wasn't there. He didn't see what Caitlin and Skylar saw. He didn't lose a friend.
"Sam Owens. Dr. Sam Owens. I don't know how many people are there! I don't know how many people are left alive! I am the police! Chief Jim Hopper! Yes, the number that I gave you, yes. 6767... I will be here!" Hopper yelled slamming the phone 
"They didn't believe you, did they?" Dakota said
"We'll see."
"We'll see"? We can't just sit here while those things are loose!" Mike yelled
"We stay here, and we wait for help." Hopper ordered and looked at Skylar.
"We need to talk" he said and Skylar sighed
"Now you wanna talk?"
"Look, you wanna do this out here I will"
Skylar rolled her eyes and the two walked into Johnathans room.
"That stunt you pulled throwing Owens at me, that was low"
"Well it was true"
"How do you know?"
"Me and Caitlin snuck into the lab"
"I'm sorry, you what?"
"It's not my fault you didn't act like a parent"
"Wanna drop the attitude"
"No, I have a right to be upset. You lied! You said you didn't know my family but yet here we are. You didn't actually want me you just got stuck with me"
"That is not true-"
"Really? So Owens didn't pay you to adopt me"
"How do you-"
"It doesn't matter how it matter that I know. You said you cared about me but you just did it for the money"
"You want the truth, at first yes. Fine I'll admit that. But then I realized that you and Dakota were the best thing to happen to me. I never lied about how much I love you two."
"Then why didn't you tell me!"
"Because I knew we would have this conversation!"
"So sorry that I found out the truth!" Skylar yelled and slammed the door on Hopper
She walked over to the dining room where the Party all sat. Dakota sat with Max and looked at Skylar nervously.
"Are you and dad fighting?"
"No" 
"I heard yelling"
"Dakota, leave it alone"
"But-"
"Hey! Maybe you should go with the rest of the kids" Steve suggested and Max dragged her away.
