Everyone went to the shed and started bordering up windows and hiding anything that could give the house away.
"You know I had an idea" Steve said as him and Skylar put boards up
"What's that?"
"After we go to the movies we should go out to eat at the dinner place you like"
"Are you seriously planning our date right now?" Skylar asked
"I need something to look forward to" he shrugged. Sky smiled and Steve sighed
"You know, you and Dakota really know how to freak people out"
"How's that?"
"Running away like that. I mean when I heard the gunshots I thought you or her were..."
"Dead?"
"Yeah. I just- I don't know. Things were starting to go well with us and I just didn't want it to all go downhill if that makes sense?"
"It does"
"Just...promise you'll make it to the date"
"I promise" Skylar nodded
"Hey, Sky. Caitlin is looking for you" Dakota said and Sky nodded. She gave Steve a kiss on the cheek making him blush.
Once Skylar was out of ear shot Dakota pushed Steve in the wall.
"Ow! What the heck!"
"That was for kissing my sister without me being present!"
"Seriously?"
"Yes!"
"I didn't kiss her, she kissed me!"
"She did?" Dakota asked surprised
"Yeah"
"Oh"
"Since your here can we talk?"
"Talk about what?"
"Everything that happened in the past 48 hours."
"That's not very specific"
"Okay, what happened in the last hour" Steve clarified
"I don't know, I'm not dead so that's a plus"
She said and Steve just gave her a drop the act look
"What do you want me say?"
"Something that isn't a comeback or a joke."
"I feel guilty"
"For what?"
"Bob and Sloan. Skylar only went in there because I ran off with Zoey. We didn't mean to it just happened. And Sloan just tried to help. And Bob, he sacrificed himself so we could get out."
"That wasn't your fault."
"Every time I do something Skylar is always gonna risk her life for me. What if next time She ends up like Sloan or my dad does. Or- or even you I can't- I can't lose you guys. Your all I have" Dakota said her voice breaking at the end and Steve hugged her tightly
