Prince Namjoon's private office is as elegant as the rest of the rooms in the castle.Deep-purple velvet covers almost every inch of the dark wooden furniture, and majestic paintwork lines the ceiling.
The room itself is spacious, almost as large, but even with its size, it feels stifling.
"When was the last time you had an affair?" Jungkook asks, sitting in front of him.
Bringing a thick cigar to his mouth and puffing on the end, Namjoon leans back on his chair. The smell of the tobacco is sweet and smoky as it hits his nostrils. "Not long ago, why are you asking?"
"What was she like?" Jungkook continues to inquire.
"She was..." he pauses, rolling the cigar between his finger while contemplating all the possible information he could give his brother. "Mediocre."
He didn't knew what Jungkook wanted from him yet but nevertheless, everyone in the palace knew that Jungkook would never visit his brothers for small talk or just to pass some time. His time was way too precious for him to waste it for any type of affection. Jungkook's mind only worked for one thing; how can he get more power? His motives were evil and Namjoon was sure of one thing; Jungkook would go as far as even killing one of his brothers for power.
"Mediocre." Jungkook repeats as he rubs his chin, chuckling.
His lean frame lounges in the chair across the room, his curly hair falling over his brows.
"As mediocre as y/n?" He asks, looking at his brothers eyes.
"Jungkook," Namjoon lets out a sigh. "What does y/n have to do with this?"
"I am just asking for your opinion on her. Is there anything wrong with that?" A small smirk pulls at his lips. This conversation was going to be interesting to him.
When Namjoon stays quiet, Jungkook lifts his legs, and props his feet up. His expensive black boots chunking down heavily on the table as he crosses his ankles. "Well in my opinion she's pleasing to stare at, but as useless as the rest of our servants. Taehyung fell for her beauty but made a big mistake to marry her."
Namjoon's chair tilts on its back legs until he's staring at the textured ceiling.
Moving the cigar to his lips, he inhales, the smoke pouring down his throat and into his lungs, providing a calm his nerves never feel without it. "She seems like a good girl, I don't know why you are so against her?"
"Namjoon, it's extremely unsettling to me you underestimate the wiles of a woman. They're snakes in sheep's clothing. Remember that, always." He lifts a finger as if to prove his point. "She's a cheap servant and always will be in my eyes. She's way too low to marry one of us especially Taehyung who holds the most power. He should have known better than to marry her."
Namjoon lifts his brows, almost as if he had offended him. "You've always been too dramatic."
"I've always been right."
"Jungkook, you worry too much. Have a cigar and calm down," Namjoon says, flipping open a cedar box on the corner of the desk.
Jungkook takes one out with a sharp look and puts it between his lips.
"What are you even doing here? Suddenly caring about my past affairs?" Namjoon snaps.
"It's just that I noticed how weird you were behaving lately after your brother got married. It seems to me as if something is disturbing you. Are you doing alright, brother?" He shifts forward, his brows rising up. "That woman didn't bring back old memories into your mind, did she?"
