-•Ian's pov•-

I was regretting my life decisions. I don't know what got into me and I decided to marry Lilian Jenkins daughter of that stupid and useless person Edmund. But the moment I saw her walking down the aisle in an exquisite white gown and a veil covering her face I realized how big of a mistake this decision was. I shouldn't have married her but before I could stop myself I had already shared the vows and my lips were against hers.

The moment I placed my lips against hers I snapped back into my senses. Lilian Jenkins was the kind of girl who was high maintenance, always a good girl, perfect for everyone, however, I on the other hand was the opposite. I was not something a simple girl like Jenkins should be involved with. She deserved a person better than me and I realized it pretty soon.

"Earth to Ian" my father's voice wafted into my ears and I came back to my office where I was discussing a very important thing with my father.

Hiring Lilian as a writer.

"Sorry, I was just thinking something"

"Will you tell me why you hired that girl here? First, you married her without telling any of us and then you hired her what do you think you are doing" he and mom were never okay with the idea of me marrying her. They always wanted me to marry a woman that they chose for me and I opposed them. I called them on my wedding day before telling them beforehand about it and it would be safe to say they were livid.

"Dad, we know she is capable and what is wrong with her working here? It's not like I am sleeping with her" I answered and the anger in his eyes was clear. I saw the pure hatred swirling in his eyes. He slapped his hands on my desk standing up with a force. He leaned forward glaring at me,

"You don't have any say in this. You know you have no say. I am the boss, everything is mine, this empire is mine, this harlequin is mine so don't you ever think you can have a say in it. You better stay away from her and keep her away too. If you'll have to lock her in that pretty mansion of yours then do it" he yelled. I noticed how his nostrils flared in anger. He was furious and I knew better than to piss him off more. I sat silently in my seat allowing him to vent out his anger on me.

As usual.

"Ian Henderson you better make all this how I want it to be. Lilian free"

"Okay" I gave him a firm nod and waited for his next step which thankfully was going out of office. Today marks a week since Lilian joined the office and he came to know about it now and I am damn sure Rebecca told him knowing well how much he hated me doing things on my own. And I also knew why I didn't see a single article written by Lilian. Rebecca must not be approving her pitches which I am sure would be great. I don't know why but I have this confidence in this girl. She has a lot of potential.

But I have to make her leave this office. I can't afford pissing off Oliver Henderson. I should think of some lies to feed Lilian because she won't quit so easily. That girl is a dynamite. I think she has ability to survive on her own she can live without my support. The way she convinced a hell lot of secretaries, marched into my office and demanded her freedom, I was convinced she can get everything for her.

I can't do this thing. But it is discussion for some other time. Right now I have a meeting to attend to look into how our magazines have been doing. But I am considering having a private meeting with Rebecca. The only thing keeping me from it is the fact that no one knows I am married other than my family and very close friends and Rebecca won't be out of all the people to know it. I need to talk to her but I also need to hide the fact that Lilian is my wife.

My legally wed wife.

"Sir everyone is already in board room" I nodded standing up from my seat buttoning up my blazer and then walked out of room. I rode elevator to a floor above and walked into board room where almost all the people were here. Our editor in chiefs of all the magazines were here but Rebecca. This woman is always getting on my nerves. I wonder why she is still here but since Mr Henderson hired her I couldn't fire her otherwise it'll offend him.
