Wield

Tell me all the things she never heard.

I'll listen to all the words you never spoke,

And drift away into the abyss.

Imagine all the worlds we could hold.

I'll hold you in my arms like you never did,

And get carried into the stars.

Touch me until everything flies like time,

Every stroke so languid,

A caress she never even dreamed of.

Lose yourself into me until

I cannot manage to find you,

A feeling she never even knew of.

Speak to me while you talk to her

Listen to me while you hear her

See within me while you look at her.

That's what I thought,

A smile that graces my face

Such innocence burnt into smoke.

Embers of burning lies,

Ashes of torn beliefs,

Grey skies of woven pain.

Stitched hurt into me

Like your mother taught you to sew,

Until it became entirely a part of me.

I'm still searching hopelessly

In the vastness of horizons,

Spreading wildly into deserts of memories.

A smile that had never been so true,

You brought it to my face,

How could I have known you were fake?

Shattered I love yous,

What was a truth is now a lie,

I loved you 'til my heart broke.

Loved you so hard it was soft,

Handed you power to wield,

To wield my heart like a child's toy.

Who taught you to bend the shadows,

Command darkness and heartbreak

Wielding everything like weapons you owned?

How did you bring me to my knees,

Without even myself realizing

How pitiful my pleas sounded?

Toyed with my heart until it bowed,

Played with my soul until it whimpered,

Wielded me until I died.
