Chapter 27: Before the Storm

"Hello? Hawks? Can you hear me?" Y/n says through her ear piece,

"I hear you, baby bird." Hawks answers back

Hawks and Y/N are doing a long distance test run on the ear pieces they got from the Engineer who designed them.

"How does the earpiece sound on your end?" Y/N asks

"Sounds like you are right next to me. The quality is good, we should be ready tomorrow."

Twice contacted Hawks about the gathering the liberation front is having tomorrow morning. The Heroes and Agencies have been preparing for the last two weeks to ambush the hide-out of the Paranormal front.

"Maybe once this is all over, we can finally go on that date you promised me?" Y/n teases as she flies to the skyscraper

"You want to go public like foreals?" Hawks asks

"Foreals." Y/n responds making Hawks smile

"What changed your mind?" Hawks asks, "Was it my begging?"

Y/n laughs, "You are cute when you beg."

Feedback cuts through the earpiece

"You guys know I can hear everything, right?" Mirko cuts in on the other earpiece making Y/N and Hawks laugh

"Hawks! I thought it was just us two you had the ear pieces!" Y/N says

"Sorry, Baby bird. I gave Mirko one since she will be at the hospital."

"Finally you guys are dating!" Mirko says, "How is my ear piece sounding from the hospital?"

"Sounds good, Mirko!" Y/n says, "Are you ready for tomorrow?"

"Duh! I'm ready to kick some ass!" Mirko exclaims, "Can't wait to take down the league once and for all!"

"I'm coming back to the agency Hawks, Over and out." Y/N says

"Y/N, you know we can just talk like we are on the phone right?" Hawks giggled

"Shut your face." Y/n says giggling

Y/N walks into Hawks office closing the door behind her, she takes off her visor and ear protectors,

"So they decided to send the students out to evacuate the cities?" Y/N asks Hawks

"Yeah, It's safer that way for them," Hawks says, looking at what seems to be a blueprint of Jaku hospital.

"I don't think I can sleep tonight," Y/N says as she slouches on his couch in his office. "I'm too anxious and just want this to be over already."

"In 24 hours everything will be over," Hawks says calmly

"I'm just worried is all." Y/N thinks as she smiles at him

"Mirko, What's up?" Y/N says, "What brings you over to Hawks agency?"

"I wanted to see what my two favorite people were up to!"

"Nothing much just been mentally preparing for tomorrow." Y/n says, "Hawks is in his office. Mirko, Can I ask you for a favor?"

"Of course girl! What is it?" Mirko says

"I'm a little nervous for tomorrow, I just have a bad feeling in my stomach thinking about it." Y/n explains, "If anything were to happen to me tomorrow, Can you promise me that you will take care of Hawks?" Y/N says

"Y/N, don't worry about tomorrow. We are going to win!" Mirko exclaims, "but in the case of something happening to you, I will take care of him. I already made a same deal with Hawks too" Mirko says
