CHAPTER 37
ASHTON BECAME more invisible. Halos hindi na umuuwi sa bahay nila. And Carisha felt so helpless and lonely.
Her parents called, asking her how is she, and she answered she's okay. Yunna also asked her the same question and she said she's fine. And Hannah called as well, and she answered the same.
Paano niya sasabihin sa mga ito ang nalaman niya? Na may babaeng mauunang ikasal pa pala sa fiancé niya.
Lumipas ang mga araw na parang hangin. Ika walong buwan na ng tiyan niya at sa susunod na buwan ay manganganak na siya.
Malungkot na napahaplos si Carisha sa kaniyang malaking tiyan, “lalabas na kayo sa susunod na buwan, babies. Pero hindi parin maayos ang Daddy niyo. Iniiwasan niya si Mommy eh.” Namuo ang tubig sa kaniyang mga mata, ayaw na niyang umiyak.
Gabi-gabi, araw-araw nalang siyang umiiyak, pero tuwing maaalala niya ang nangyayari sa kanilang dalawa, hindi niya mapigilang umiyak.
Pahikbi-hikbi si Carisha, pilit na pinapakalma ang sarili. She stood up and went downstairs, magpapahangin nalang siya sa likod-bahay.
Carisha sat on the hammock and feel the breeze of fresh air. Angsarap sa pakiramdam, pero mas masarap siguro kung kasama niya si Ashton at sabay na hinahaplos ang tiyan niya.
She sighed when tears forming tears in her eyes again.
“Goodness, Carisha, tumigil ka na.” Mariing kastigo niya sa sarili. “Tears can do nothing to our situation right now.” Pakausap niya sa kaniyang sarili.
Dahan-dahang nahiga si Carisha sa duyan at nang maramdamang namigat ang talukap ng mga mata ay natulog na siya.
PAGKAUWI ni Ashton sa bahay ay agad niyang hinanap ang kasintahan na natagpuan niyang natutulog sa duyan sa likod-bahay.
Ashton squat and caress Carisha's face. Parang kutis ng baby, mayroong mga ugat-ugat at napakanipis. Angsarap haplusin. Napabaling siya sa tiyan nitong malaki na.
“Lalabas na kayo next month, babies...” Buong ligayang aniya. Hinaplos niya ang mga anak niya sa loob ng tiyan ng babaeng mahal at naramdam ang mga itong sinisipa ang palad niya.
A wide grin stretch from his lips. He's excited for next month. Well, Ashton have a surprise for Carisha, he hope she will be happy with it.
He's enjoying watching Carisha sleeping peacefully while snoring softly when his phone rang.
Ashton answered the call, even he doesn't want to.
“Hey, babe, i'll wait you in my condominium.” Malambing na sabi nito sa kaniya. Ashton want to vomit because of the gruggy voice but he force his self not to.
He cleared his throat before he spoke, “alright. Ready for a wonderful night for me then.” He teasingly said.
Ashton don't want to, but he needed to do this, to know the real culprit.
He's guilty. Nasa harapan niya ang mapapangasawa ngunit nakikipag-usap siya sa babaeng gusto silang paglayuin na dalawa.
Malanding tumawa si Sheila, “of course, baby. Kailan ba hindi naging wonderful ang night nating dalawa?” She said flirtilous.
Napakagat siya sa labi at pinigilan ang sariling magmura. Things need to be done before they do.
The night came and he went to Sheila's condominium.
Ashton was welcomed with a bed with red roses and filled in red lights. F-ck!
He couldn't do this! Hindi pa siya tuluyang tigang para payagan na may mangyari sa kanilang dalawa ulit. He would never cheat on his baby...
ASHTON checked the time, twelve o'clock in the morning.
Ashton left a note before he went to the groud floor and drove his car to their house.
What he expected is Carisha, sleeping on their bed, but opposite welcomed him. He opened the door and she was there, sitting on the couch and looking at him blankly.
“Baby—” Carisha cutted his words off.
“One in the morning. One am in the morning, Ashton. Ano ang ginagawa mo sa labas ng ganitong oras?!” Galit nitong sigaw sa kaniya.
He gulped, didn't know what to say. Ashton badly want to tell her everything. How he wants to tell her that he's doing everything for them, but he couldn't.
Lalo na at buntis ito. He doesn't want to stress her out. Kaya kahit pagtatago na naman ang ginagawa niya, hindi niya kayang sabihin.
“Ano?! Hindi ka magsasalita?! Don't you have a plan to talk with me, ha?! Ako ba dapat ang gagawa ng paraan para magka-usap tayo?!” Malakas na sigaw ng kasintahan. Nagbabadyang tumulo ang mga butil ng tubig sa mga mata nito.
Ashton wants to embrace her and tell her everything. But he can't...
Carisha nodded nochantly. “I see, siguro nga tama ako. Na nasa bahay ka ng first fianceé mo.” Her eyes were full of pain. The tears were falling faster from her eyes without making any sound.
Nagulat si Ashton sa sinabi nito. How did she know?
Ngumisi si Carisha, “gulat ka 'no? Oo, alam ko. Pero kahit alam ko, hindi ko sinabi sa 'yo. Tiniis ko 'yung sakit na hatid ng invitation card na 'yon.” Mariin nitong tinuro ang dibdib, “ang-sakit sakit, Ashton. Sobrang sakit. I thought you are the one! Ang sabi mo hindi mo ako sasaktan! Sinabi ko 'yon! Ano ngayon 'to, ha, Ashton?! Ano itong ginagawa mo?!”
He could see the pain in her eyes toughroughly. Ashton could see how he broke her into pieces as tears falling from her eyes.
“Baby, let me explain, please. Please, please, please.” He pleaded. Ashton's eyes started to blurry because of the water that forming in his eyes.
He can't... He can't lose her. He can't lose his baby...
Ashton was about to hold her hands, but she declined.
“Don't touch me! Don't you ever try to touch me! Ayaw ko na sa 'yo! Ayaw ko na!” She shouted madly.
Ashton eyes widened, no! Those words pained him. Those words was starting to broke his heart.
“No! Baby, no! Nabibigla ka lang. Sit, we will talk. Please, baby, please, bawiin mo ang sinabi mo. You can't —”
“Of course i can! I hate you! I hate you so much! I hate you!” After saying those words, Carisha run outside the house.
Ashton immediately follow Carisha. “Baby, wait! Baby, please, don't run!” He shouted. Malapit na niya itong maabot, oh goodness, her babies... Their babies.
“Baby, stop running!” Malakas niyang sabing muli, but Carisha didn't obey him, instead she run more faster.
Ashton close his eyes, he feels dizzy. What the f-ck?! Napatigil siya sa pagtakbo at napasabunot sa buhok dahil sa hilong nararamdaman.
Parang nawala ang pagkahilo niya nang makita ang isang sasakyan na papalapit sa kinaroroonan ni Carisha.
Ashton tried to run fast as he can, but he was late.
A loud sound of bumping someone echoed in that place, after that followed with a sound of a leaving car.
And he saw Carisha, lying on the floor, bathing with her own blood.
“B-Baby...” Nilapitan niya ito at inilagay ang taas na bahagi ng katawan sa kaniyang braso. He tapped her face, checking is she's awake. “Baby... Baby, wake up, please, wake up!” Malakas niyang sabi. A blood rolled down from her head down to her ears and cheeks. “Baby, no! No, baby! Noo!” Niyakap ni Ashton ng mahigpit ang babaeng mahal, na wari ba'y sa yakap niya ay mumulat muli ang mata nito.
Pilit niya itong pinapamulat ang mata. Sumisigaw na parang baliw at umiiyak habang nasa gitna ng kalsada.
Pakiramdam ni Ashton ay basag na basag na ang puso niya. Sobrang sakit na gusto nalanh niyang ilabas iyon at ibigay sa babaeng mahal.
As Ashton crying harder, a loud scream came out from his mouth, letting out the pain he's feeling.
“No, baby, please, wake up!”
