{I vote that this and the next chapter are going to be extremely emotional. If you have fears that you think are kind of stupid, don't worry. There are other people out there suffering too. Just know that you don't have to let your fears control you. Anyone can face a fear if they have the right person or motivation to help them do so. And with that, enjoy!!}

(First Person POV. Character: Gracie)

Marcel and I pulled up to my house. I told him to stay in the car before getting out. I shut the car door and saw Trevor holding Mochi. I rushed over to the two asking what was going on and Trevor slowly stood up and told me what had happened. I felt like I was going deaf after the first three words. My head just tuned everything else out so my brain could only focus on one thing. 💭Bingo ran away...💭

Marcel watched from inside the car. Seeing Trevor's face go from mildly worried to a look of concern in just a few seconds as I dropped to the ground on my knees. Mochi rushed to my side, pressing his head to my own. Of course, having him there made me feel a bit better, but I'd only had Mochi for 2 years. I'd had Bingo for 8, ever since she was a tiny little puppy. Why would she run away...?

With Trevor receiving no response from me, Marcel got out of the car. My prince, as I called him, wasted no time getting to my side. My cousin was confused but decided to wait to ask questions later. "Lacy, my love..." Marcel whispered next to my ear. "Get up for me, won't you?" At that moment, the world began to come back to me. All I wanted was to be in his loving arms, just like I had all night. The warmth of love was so mysterious yet it felt so good. I never knew falling for someone could be so great. Why did I ever hide it...?

I shifted onto my feet and stood up. Mochi stayed close to me. Maybe I forgot that my cousin was standing right in front of me, or maybe I just didn't care, but I pulled Marcel into a loving hug. Resting my head on his chest as my arms wrapped around his broad back. His arms wrapped around my smaller form. I wanted to cry, in his arms I knew I could, but I didn't. As I took in the scent of his cologne, my nerves calmed down and I relaxed. I wasn't going to cry because I was strong enough to take this.

I slowly slid out of Marcel's arms and turned to face Trevor. "Then we'll look for her." I checked the time on my phone. It was about 10:25. "We have about eight hours until I have to be at work. Then another two hours before I have to leave directly from work to be somewhere. The contract signing shouldn't take too long as long as Gunther isn't difficult about it."

Both men nodded in agreement. It was then silent for a moment. That was until Trevor spoke up... "Sooo... Where should we start looking?" He asked curiously. Marcel shrugged. I placed my hands on my hips and started to think. "Bingo doesn't like enclosed spaces, so it's unlikely she'll be found in any buildings or alleys. I say we start looking throughout the city's parks. We'll have the most luck there." Marcel nodded in agreement again.

"Then let's get looking for my puppy," I said in a soft yet confident tone.

"Lace... It's lunchtime. Let's take a break...?" Marcel kept trying to persuade me to relax for a few minutes. "No!" I kept telling him. "Not until I find her!" I'll admit, after searching around various parks for hours trying to find a dog was tiring, especially in the heat, but I had to find Bingo before someone else did! But my boyfriend just wouldn't accept that answer.

He grabbed my right wrist and made me face him. "We've been looking for hours in this heat. The last thing you need today is a heat stroke, let alone sunburn." And with that, he dragged me over to the nearest café and sat us down at a table. Once the cool air under the shaded umbrella hit my skin, I instantly relaxed a little. The waiter came over not too long afterward and took our drink orders.
