POV - Nikei
I woke up actually excited for the day. Ignoring the stock message from Monocrow playing, I threw on my clothes and headed for the Dining Hall. Most of us were already there eating a feast of a breakfast, their conversation sunny and pleasant. Even Mikado seemed less irritable than usual.
Gee, why didn't we think of this sooner? What a great idea!
"We're going to the Funhouse today!" Emma said.
"That's right, Emma-chan!" I said.
Almost everyone was excited about going to the Funhouse. Teruya was silent, but I assumed he was excited, too.
"Hey, Nik." Yoruko said. "For us to eat when we get back from the funhouse, I'm considering making a cake and putting it in the fridge? Will you help it!"
"Yoruko-chan, Nikei will help you!" I said.
So, me and Yoruko spent a while in the kitchen, baking a cake. There was one time when the batter spilled all over me, but Yoruko just laughed.
"You know." She said, as we were putting the finished cake into the fridge. "Last night, I was having a dream where I was playing a game of Monocrow blocks. And you know, I couldn't win it."
"That's a funny dream." I said.
I didn't see her take out a butter knife, or put it in her hoodie pocket.
Soon, it was time to go to the Funhouse.
We headed to the enterace of it.
It was a train on some tracks in front of a tunnel.
"Everyone! To the Funhouse!" Emma cheered.
Everyone was excited to be going to the Funhouse... well, almost everyone.
"Guys, don't go to the Funhouse!" Teruya said.
"We can't go to the Funhouse?!" Kokoro exclaimed.
"We shouldn't." Teruya said. "Let me explain."
Music started to play as Teruya began to sing.
"Don't take us to the Funhouse, guys!" he sang.
"We don't know what's waiting for us to play!
Yeah, we don't want to go have some fun today.
Don't come over and play!
Don't. Take. Us. To. The. Funhouse!"
The song stopped.
"We won't have you spoiling our fun." Iroha said. "We'll go to this Funhouse, no matter what! And you're coming with us!"
And so, Teruya was basically forced to go to the Funhouse.
It would be fun, though the experience would be slightly dampened by Teruya's presence.
If only I knew then just how wrong I was.
The train leading to the Funhouse had 4 cars, each with 3 seats. And there were 13 of us. Me, Teruya, Iroha and Emma sat in the front car, with Teruya on my lap, Sora, Setsuka, and Mikado sat in the middle car, Hibiki, Kanade, and Shinji sat in the back car, and Yoruko, Kokoro and Syobai sat in the very back car. To the left and right of the 12 seats, there were two metal bars, and I grabbed onto them. A few seconds later, we entered the tunnel, beginning our journey to the Funhouse.
"We're going the Funhouse! It will probably be like a gigantic escape room!" Iroha said. She was clearly excited to go to the Funhouse.
Suddenly, the tunnel began to shake.
"Ahhh!" screamed Iroha. "Let me off!"
"It's too late for that now, isn't it, Miss Iroha?" said a familiar voice as smoke filled the train.
"Ahhhh!" screamed Iroha. "Let me and my friends off, Monocrow!"
"It's too late now!" screamed Monocrow maniacally.
People quickly began to panic, a commotion starting on the train. Some ran for cover while others tried to cover their mouths and noses.
Most of us lost conciuness, though.
"Is this sleeping gas?" Mikado asked, before he fell asleep, too.
"You know, Nikei? I'm starting to think going to the Funhouse was a bad idea!" Teruya said.
Before long, the two of us lost conciuness too.
