The last word hung chillingly in the air. Nikei's expression fell even lower that I thought possible. He bent his head as he shrank down onto his podium, barely holding on.
"Yes." he said. "It was me who killed Iroha."
"Looks like we have our culprit." Kokoro said.
"And for someone who was framed for murder themselves, you sure have a one-track mind!" I recoiled.
"But all the evidence points to Nikei!" Teruya insisted. "It has to be him!"
"I know it appears that way, but we have to talk it over!" I tried to argue. "Something about this seems wrong."
"I'm... not convinced," said Syobai. "At the moment, I'm more inclined to believe it was Mr. Yomiuri."
"Yes, I'm the culprit." Nikei said.
"And should we be splitting?" I asked, angrily.
HOLD ON!
"Looks like you're all split down the middle!" Monocrow said. "And we know what that means!"
And then he turned that damned key in his throne.
"Wait, does that mean we're going to-" before I could even finish my sentence, my podium began to rise.
As the podiums shot into the air, I tightened my grip.

Syobai: But Mr. Sannoji... we must vote for Mr. Yomiuri . If we don't find the true culprit, then we'll all perish!

Mikado: No, you shouldn't vote for Nikei ! He's innocent!
Nikei: Everyone, I'm the killer , okay?!

"We've discovered our culprit. It's time to vote!" Kokoro said.
"Hold on a minute..." I said, bringing the trial to a halt. "Kokoro...why are you so desperate to vote?"
"Because we've known all along that Nikei is the killer," Teruya replied. "There's nothing else left to solve, so we might as well go to the vote and then we can get on with the rest of our day."
"We shouldn't vote just yet." I spoke. "I'm going to prove Nikei's innocence!"
