Summary: Girlfriends SuA and Yoohyeon invite the reader to their house for a dinner date, where the reader's suspicions about the couple are confirmed.♡
There was always something strangely mysterious about your neighbors, the Kim couple, SuA and Yoohyeon. But that was what had allured you to both of them, from the moment that you first saw their matching raven hair and midnight clothing. The way that they walked as though they were gliding, the way that they always spoke in hushed voices to each other in a language that didn't quite sound familiar to your ears.
But there were things about the couple that were familiar to you, too. Whenever SuA held Yoohyeon's hand and looked up at her happily, it tugged at your heartstrings as you walked down the dirt road in front of their house. Whenever Yoohyeon laughed and pushed on SuA's shoulder in response to her girlfriend's teasing, it brought a smile to your lips as you glanced into their yard because of the melodic sound from where you sat on your porch.
On this particular autumn day, you were outside planting in your garden when you heard the click of the Kims' front door, and naturally, you turned towards the sound. Yoohyeon was stepping out onto her porch, her long black dress swishing neatly around her feet. Her gaze caught yours as she looked about, and a smile ghosted her lips. A blush was already spreading across her pale cheeks, and you thought that it was from the cold until she turned back to hold the door for SuA and it deepened. Your attention then shifted to the shorter woman, who smiled more widely at you, and to your surprise, she even waved.
Even more to your surprise, the women stepped off of their porch and began to cut across the lawn that separated your house. "Hello," SuA called as they got closer. The couple had spoken to you when they first moved in and you had baked them some cookies to welcome to the neighborhood, but that was pretty much the extent of your interactions. They had always been nice, of course, but they were still new to the area, so you hadn't even had much time to talk to them anyways.
"Hello," you greeted warmly in response. "How are you both?"
"Great," Yoohyeon smiled, apparently answering for herself and SuA. "And you?"
"The same," you said honestly. And getting better, you thought to yourself as the two women approached you. You could have sworn that you saw SuA's smile widen as she exchanged a glance with her girlfriend when you dwelled momentarily on your good fortune.
"We just wanted to know, well..." SuA hummed for a moment, clearly wondering how best to phrase whatever she was about to say. "We wanted the chance to get to know you better. Would you be interested in having dinner with us sometime...as a...a date? If that's something that you're open to, anyway?"
"Oh," you said, your eyes widening in surprise. You weren't quite sure what that entirety of that offer entailed, but in any case, it sounded good to you. You had always thought of the Kims as an attractive couple, and you were quickly realizing that you certainly wouldn't mind experiencing a bit of their relationship for yourself, whether that was for a night – or, hopefully, much longer than that.
"I would like that a lot," you finally said after a moment. SuA and Yoohyeon hadn't looked worried at all as they waited for your response, something for which you were grateful.
"Oh, good," SuA smiled warmly. "How does tomorrow night at our house sound?"
"That sounds perfect," you beamed. "I'll see you then."
~
SuA and Yoohyeon's front porch was covered with beautiful vines that seemed to grow in the neatest of ways, and even though terracotta pot after terracotta pot was scattered all over the porch, the couple's herb collection was decidedly organized in quite a meticulous manner. You admired the collection with a bit of envy as you waited for the door to be opened.
