Two years later...

Aisha's POV

"Ouch, my hair" I whimpered as Camelia, the makeup and hair stylist, pulled my hairs out of the root just to curl them.

"You have to stay still. How am I supposed to work on your hair?" She complained.

I glanced sideways at her, scrunching my nose as I looked back into the mirror. Chaos was erupting everywhere, and no one had an idea how to handle this. My eyes hovered from my chest to my face. The red wine-coloured blouse complimented the complexion, neck loaded with a heavy silver necklace. My hands were painted in a beautiful Heena pattern up until my elbow. Forty more minutes until I get ready for the biggest day of my life.

Practically and emotionally.

Did I mention why?

It's my marriage.

Oh, god. I am getting married to Aaron.

Riri came into the room with red roses in her hands, looking ravishing in blue shimmery lehenga, hair curled and tied into a perfect messy bum, complimenting her broad shoulders. Pink jhumkas hung down her ears, dangling as she walked in her heels. Teresa followed behind, in an elegant navy blue lehenga beaded with pink flower patterns all over the skirt. Both looked beautiful in Indian attire, and my heart fluttered at that.

My marriage. With the man of my life.

That too in India. Bhaiya booked an entire castle for the ceremonies for four days. Tonight, we were to wed with traditional Hindu rituals under the night sky and the day after tomorrow, in a Christian wedding.

In those two years, my life turned upside down in so many ways. We dated, and damn if that was not the happiest time of my life. We were there for each other, busy with our work but always there. I moved into his apartment shortly after he asked me to be his girlfriend as if I was going to decline that. I mean, twenty-four hours with him... shit had to be crazy. He took me to places I had never visited, whether it was his business trip or a family trip, we lived every fucking moment. Over those years, the death of my parents became more bearable. Though everyone knew my birthday, I was not ready to celebrate. I accepted the wishes, and the gifts but not those parties which Alex claimed to throw at me. Never. Not yet least.

Aaron and I had become inseparable to an extent that I had to kick his ass out to go and spend some time with his friends and David. Not that I did not want him to stick around me all the time, but Riri and I planned to go wild, too.

She and I were soul sisters. I knew that from the start and the past two years had been solid proof of it, intensifying and solidifying the sister bond further. She had been my first girlfriend, and no matter how many work friends I had she would always come first. Especially after she took me to one of her college frat parties with a false identity. Aaron did not know about it, thankfully. For why else would I let him turn into a beast for a drunk dance on the top of the table in the centre of the living room? Nah. Because his jealousy was something I did not wish to speak of. Out of hands.

It was not just us... but Teresa, Alex and I grew as a family together. Aaron's grandparents, uncle aunties, and everyone became mine when I stepped foot in his house. I had been there at every festival, enjoying and just being a part of their life as if I had been there for as long as I could remember. If going on a family trip with all of them to Hawaii was not proof then, I had no idea what it was.

"Hellloooo? Earth to Aisha?" Camelia's voice rang in my ear, snapping me out of the memories.

"Yeah? What is it? Sorry, I missed it,"
