Sure! With usernames, I usually just name them after cute things or things that I like, and I also don't spend a lot of time thinking about them. "gardenwalks" just came to me instantly when I created my account. I like the thought of walking through a beautiful garden, hence "gardenwalks".
2. Gaano kahalaga sa iyo ang pagsusulat at bakit?
Very. I can say that writing has always been a part of me. I started writing when I was very young and it is the one thing I'm both comfortable with and good at doing. It's something I can depend on, and I imagine that without it, I wouldn't be me.
3. Mayroon ka bang sariling akda na nais mong irekomenda sa mga hindi pa nakapagbabasa ng iyong gawa?
Yes! Please try reading "Picnics by the River". It's a story about friendship and the love between two girls that starts in their early teenage years until well into young adulthood. It's my first epistolary novel as well.
4. Paano o ano ang nag-udyok sa iyo para magsimulang magsulat ng mga epistolary stories?
I love reading epistolary stories because I often don't have the attention span to read full-length novels. However, I could never really find epistolaries that were 1). sapphic and 2). light, fluffy, and sweet. As a lesbian, I can only read so much M/F fiction before I start looking for something that's wlw, so I wrote my own. I can say it's been a very interesting and rewarding experience so far, mostly because now I can just go back to my own stories when I want something to read.
5. Maaari mo bang ibahagi sa amin ang iyong sariling 3 Do's & Don'ts sa pagsusulat ng epistolary?
Dos and Don'ts:
Use words that are understandable. (Even though our stories are in chat format and shortcuts are to be expected, we should still prioritize readability. More accurately, it's all about striking the perfect balance between portraying realistic conversations and making our story readable still to our audience).
In some instances, it is better to "show" than to tell. (In writing epistolaries, we are telling a story. And I think it's better to use aspects of chat fiction in portraying certain emotions (e.g. A character blocking someone instead of just telling them, "I hate you!" or a character leaving another character on "read" and letting readers draw their own conclusions from that action alone. You'd be surprised that they get it right most of the time!).
Make sure the story format looks good, but don't go over the top. (Personally, I appreciate epistolary novels with formats that are clean and consistent. However, I don't think it's necessary to bombard every chapter with high-resolution graphics and images all the time. Sometimes, just relying on text is more than enough).
6. Kung bibigyan ka ng pagkakataong pumili ng manunulat na magsusulat sa kuwento ng iyong buhay, sino ito at bakit?
I would pick me. I know myself best and I trust that I'll be able to depict my life in writing in exactly the way that I'd want it to be written.
7. Maaari mo bang ibahagi sa amin ang iyong buong proseso ng pagsusulat?
I write directly on the app, so I just open Wattpad when I feel like writing. When I'm not typing, I have a lot of story ideas in mind. Sometimes I save them on my phone, but often they just come back to me when I'm ready to write again.
8. Anong klase ng pananaliksik ang iyong ginagawa kapag magsusulat ng panibagong kuwento?
When I'm just starting to write something that's unfamiliar to me, I begin by reading other stories with similar elements to the story I want to write, or I do a quick Google search. If the topic is more complicated, I might spend a good half hour just reading on the subject before I start any kind of writing.

10. Saan mo nakikita ang sarili mo pagkalipas ng limang taon?
Still writing. With hopefully more finished stories this time (and at least one self-published book!).
11. Ano ang iyong maipapayo sa mga bagong manunulat?
Save all of the stories you write, no matter how bad you think they are. A finished story is always better than an unwritten one, and you can always edit your work and polish it into something better later on. Drafts are also great resources for tracking your progress and improvement in writing.
