chapter 15: outrage

charles' pov:
i was sitting in camillas living room room sipping on my hot coffee when the papers got here. I went and grabbed them while camilla was cooking eggs and bacon for our breakfast. As soon as i picked it up and read what was on the front page i lost grip of it and it fell out of my hands. I couldn't believe it. The headline read "Princess diana of wales with another man?" and showed a picture of her and James Hewitt. I could feel my fists tightening, i went over to the kitchen and told camilla to read it.
She looked at me as if i were crazy.
"your mad at her for this?" she said perplexed
"yes of course darling!" i exclaimed
"well Charles you do realize we're doing the same thing she is right?" she added "it's about time she moved on from you and if she can knock these rumors down like before and keep the public out of it nothing has to happen."
I lost my temper and yelled
"the difference is she is a woman married into the royal family and i am a man already in the royal family"
she slammed the spatula down on the tile next to the oven and said
"well, i'm going to take a walk go ahead and serve yourself" she walked out of the room and a few seconds later i could hear the door slam. So many thoughts were running through my head. I got cheated on by my pathetic wife and camilla supports her and not her own lover? stupid woman. I seriously don't understand them. I used camilla's landline and requested my mother for a meeting and she agreed, with that i headed to buckingham palace where she greeted me and the entrance
"mummy" i said with a smile and kissed her on the cheek.
"yes what is it charles i don't have very much time"
"diana cheated on me with james hewitt" i stated "i'd like you to request for his termination as a general"
"ah" she said bluntly "maybe it's because your with ms. parker-bowles"
"don't bring camilla up mother" i muttered angrily
"then don't bring up james" she exclaimed visibly judging me
"it was a mistake coming here" i said
i walked away and heard her call my name but i didn't care i needed to go talk to diana.
