"So he hasn't asked you to the Yule ball yet?" Sooyun asked. 

Chaeri sighed and stabbed her French toast, "Nope.  I'm pretty sure he has eyes for that Ravenclaw girl." She glanced up past Sooyun. 

Sooyun frowned and turned around, secretly pointing to the brunette with freckles that was laughing with her friend, "Her?  Elenor?"

"Yes." Chaeri mumbled miserably, "But you know what?  Doesn't even matter." She said confidently. 

Sooyun rolled her eyes, "Oh come on Chae!  If you fancy him, you should ask him so you won't be alone!"

"Aren't we going together?" Chaeri asked skeptically.

"About that..." Sooyun chuckled nervously. 

"Sunoo asked you out didn't he?" Chaeri finished. 

Sooyun nodded slowly, "He asked me last night before bed." She sighed when she saw how glum Chaeri looked, "Just ask Jungwon.  He's one of your best friends.  If you're scared to ask him to be your date as a date- just ask him to go as a friend to keep you company."

Chaeri nodded, "If he doesn't ask her first."

"Chaeri?"

Chaeri snapped her head around behind her.  Part of her hoped that voice was Jungwon, but unfortunately it wasn't. 

It was Ashton Quinn, a 4th year from Slytherin, "Oh.  Hi Ashton." Chaeri said dryly. 

Ashton gave her a smirk, "Song, I heard you don't have a date yet."

Chaeri immediately looked at Sooyun who was excitedly smiling, "I don't, so what do you need?"

"So I'm offering you to be my date to the ball. What do you say?" Ashton asked with a confident smile. 

"What?" Chaeri looked at Ashton with wide eyes.  No way he just asked her to the ball.  Around her she could see everyone around them turn and whisper. 

Chaeri sighed, "Uh Ashton.. I'm flattered but-"

"Walk with me." Chaeri yelped when Jungwon appeared out of nowhere and grabbed her hand.  Pulling her out of her seat. 

"But my food!" Chaeri protested when he dragged her towards the door, "Jungwon!  What the hell is your problem?!" He wouldn't say a word to her.  His eyes were set on glaring at everything in front of him and his grip was almost cutting off circulation to Chaeri's hand. 

When they got out of the Great Hall and by a small empty corner Jungwon let go, "bastard." Chaeri grumbled as she massaged her wrist. 

Jungwon tsked, "You're not going with him right?"

Chaeri looked at him in disgust, "Me?  I'm not going with Ashton.  I barely know him!  He's not even-" she took a deep breath, "Why do you care?"

Jungwon leaned against the wall, "Are you say no because you don't like him or because you're waiting for someone to ask you?"

Chaeri didn't answer. 

"Chae, tell me."

"I'm waiting for someone." Chaeri mumbled, "But why did you yank me away like some rag doll?" Jungwon stepped closer to Chaeri but she stayed still with her arms crossed, "I'm not in the mood for your teasing, Jungwon."

Jungwon smirked, "Because I don't want Quinn to ask you before I do."

Chaeri scoffed, "Just because you-" he was going to ask her?  Chaeri stared at Jungwon, "I thought you- you were- HUH?!"

Jungwon laughed, "what?  You thought I was going at ask Elenor Martin?" His smile broadening. 

"Yes! You were staring at her all day yesterday during study hall." Chaeri exasperated. 

"Well not directly.  Who was in front of her every time?"

Chaeri frowned when she thought back to yesterday.  Every time during study hall, Jungwon was staring past her to look at Elenor.  Or..

"Me?!" Chaeri whispered.

Jungwon smiled softly, "finally you figured it out." His smile fell though, "Sorry.. I forgot, you're waiting for someone."

It was Chaeri's turn to smirk, "who said it was someone that isn't you? Because if you actually believed that you're an absolute idiot."

Jungwon's smile returned, "You were waiting for me to ask you?"

Chaeri flicked his forehead, "Yes you idiot."

"Alright fine, Chae will you go to the Yule ball with me as my date?" He asked with a small laugh.

Chaeri hummed, "Hmm I mean.."

Jungwon glared at her, "Hey!"

"Okay, okay, I'll go with you." Chaeri chuckled, "I'm going to go finish my breakfast, I'll talk to you later." She was about to leave but at the last minute she quickly gave Jungwon a kiss on the cheek before walking away. 

Jungwon smiled in amusement watching Chaeri walk away happily, "That girl.."
